It’s a matter of great honour to share that Dr. Urvashi Makkar, Director General; GLBIMR was invited as a panelist at the 20th National Management Summit on Development for Exceptional Performance and Competitive Edge held at Hotel LeMeridian, New Delhi on February 22, 2019.
Dr. Makkar shared her views on the importance and contribution ofpeople as the key resource. GLBIMR fraternity is proud to be steered by a leader, Mr. Pankaj Agarwal, Vice Chairman, GL Bajaj Educational Institutions, who considers human resource as an asset. The panel discussion was very stimulating and highly relevant in the current scenario of ever evolving dynamic world. Dr. Makkar was joined by Dr. V P Singh, Chairperson of the session and senior academician of repute, Mr. Amit Vatsa, Head HR (West Zone), ICICI Bank as the co-panelist.
Dr. Makkar delved upon the critical relevance of competency development within organizations in order to achieve exceptional performance and competitive advantage for future sustainability. The continuous learning and development of each employee through investment of time and knowledge was equally harped upon during the discussion. The deliberations helped in acknowledging the role of people in the overall strategy for an organization and leveraging the talent pool with the help of technology. Various aspects of competency mapping and development were discussed upon that lead to the path of success for an organization in the highly competitive environment.

GLBIMR Organised JOSHTALKS in association with ITC VIVEL on the theme “Ab Samjhauta Nahin” under the astute guidance of Mr. Pankaj Agarwal, Vice Chairman, GL Bajaj Educational Institutions and Dr. Urvashi Makkar, Director General, GLBIMR on February 18, 2019 for the students of PGDM Batch 2018-2020.The Trainer of the event was Ms. Aashna Chaprana, Trainer, Josh Talks .
Dr. Makkar motivated the students to stand up for themselves and become important part of the developing society. Her words inspired many students to take active part in the growth of the nation by first developing themselves to become nation builders.
The main objective of this session was to apprise the students with the current legal and social issues prevailing in the society and to help them understand their fundamental rights, its scope, its diversity and its development. Ms. Aashna helped the students to develop an understanding about the issues like individuals’ fundamental rights, Gender Equality, Domestic Violence, Divorce, Alimony and Inheritance. The session has increased the self awareness among the students that would help them develop into strong and focused individuals contributing meaningfully to the society.
This workshop is intended to impart Life skills and Leadership to empower our students to be able to think big and dream big. It will be a Power Packed Motivational Seminar by Chandrashekhar Singh, Entrepreneur, Motivational Speaker and Author.
The main objective of this session is to apprise the students with the unique management exhibited by Dabbawala Enterprises, Mumbai, in the field of ‘Time Management’ and ‘Supply Chain Management’.
Students will be able to develop an understanding about applications of basic principles of People Management, Sustainable Relationship Development, Customer Satisfaction and thirst to serve customers in a simple yet effective fashion. The students will also learn about Reverse Logistics which could be well applied in FMCGs and other industries.
GL Bajaj Institute of Management and Research, Greater Noida, organized a Special Session on “SELLING SKILLS” on February 14, 2019 for PGDM Batch 2018–20. This initiative was taken under the astute leadership of Mr. Pankaj Agarwal, Vice Chairman, GL Bajaj Educational Institutions and Dr. Urvashi Makkar, Director General, GLBIMR. The corporate expert for this session was Mr. Puneet Raman, Founder & Director, Prowisdom Growth.
The objective of the session was to enhance the student’s understanding of selling process along with making them for corporate ready for the Sales and Marketing assignments in their upcoming summer internships.
Dr. Makkar welcomed the guest trainer and reinforced the students to understand the role and importance of this unique training session to amplify their skills for the ongoing campus recruitment; she resonated with the idea for the students to appreciate their role as a true ‘facilitator’ and ‘business developer’ rather than being only a ‘seller’.
Mr. Puneet Raman helped the students to assess their competence in terms of their selling skills and enabling them to develop a more positive attitude towards selling irrespective of the barrier of language. The budding managers at GLBIMR were spellbound and amazed to learn the innovative techniques to improve their communication skills while incorporating small yet significant measures in their daily routines. The delivery of the session was through a combined approach of exciting role play exercises and management games, it was a great learning experience thoroughly relished by the students.
