Under the edifying guidance of Mr. Pankaj Agrawal, Vice Chairman, GLBIMR and Dr. Urvashi Makkar, Director General, GL Bajaj Institute of Management and Research organized International Conference on “Innovations in Technology: A Roadmap for Achieving Global Competitiveness (ICIT-2K16)” on September 10, 2016, Saturday, which was attended by more than 300 participants from more than 20 countries like USA, Germany, Egypt, Romania, SriLanka, Kenya, UAE, Thailand, Ghana and many more providing an ‘academic – industry interface’ for generating intellectually stimulating discussions. Learning and disseminating the knowledge are two sides of the same coin. We will stop learning if we stop sharing the knowledge. It is a matter of pride for us to share that Dr. Urvashi Makkar, Director General, GLBIMR graced the “National Conference On Globalization & Sustainable Growth of Business at D.A.V Centenary College, Faridabad on February 18, 2017. Dr Makkar presided the Valedictory Session of the conference along with Dr. Satish Ahuja, Principal, D.A.V Centenary College who was the Conference Director and Dr. Jyoti Rana, H.O.D PG commerce & Marketing, D.A.V Centenary College as the conference chair.

Dr. Urvashi Makkar while sharing her valuable inputs about the conference in the valedictory session gave an impeccable session regarding the subject matter. She enthralled the participants & audience with the facts and figures along with the detailed theory. The other eminent speakers of the session were Prof. Raj Kumar Mittal, Director-Development, Dean, University School of Management Studies, GGSIU, Prof. N.P Singh, MDI, Gurgaon and Dr. Ravi. K. It’s a matter of great honour to share that Dr. Urvashi Makkar, Director General; GLBIMR was invited as a panelist in the 18th National Management Summit on “Leading Transformation of the Organizations in the Digital Age” held at The Suryaa Hotel, New Delhi on Feb 3. Dr. Makkar was joined by senior business leaders like Mr.Vijay Rai, MA-APAC & EMEA Markets, savior Inc, Mr. Sanjay Verma, Group CHRO & Global HR Head, Uniparts India and Mr. Rajan Dutta, MD, Xstrops Consulting as co panelists. The summit was a gala event where the top notch representatives from leading corporate houses participated. The event witnessed the gracious presence of Padma Shri Dr. Pritam Singh, Non Executive & Independent Director, Hero MotoCorp and Mr. Mahesh Singh, Board Member, Indian Railways along with top executives from leading organistaions like Cargil India, Reliance Infrastructure, Milagrow Business, LG Electronics, NIIT Technologies, Organic Wellness, Jindal Stainless Ltd, Minda Industries and many more.

Dr Urvashi Makkar shared her views regarding “Challenges in meeting customer expectations in digital age”. She highlighted the awareness of Indian buyers, specially the millennials – as she addressed them. Digitization is no doubt the only way to go, but as Dr Makkar shared that organizations should also keep their focus on customer satisfaction as well. She related the scenario with Education Industry and how GLBIMR is highly focused on the overall development of its students using innovative pedagogy making them future ready and competitive. India is on a cusp of transformation into the digital era and Management Institutes need to reflect those changes in Education system to make sure that our future leaders do not lagger behind.

Expert Talk Series on “Stress Management for Becoming Successful Corporate Professional”

Maintaining a proper work life balance is one of the keystones to happiness and GLBIMR believes that in order to be a successful professional, it is very important for the students to learn maintaining a balance between academic schedule and personal life. The PGDM Batch 2016-18 is gearing up for their first ever corporate exposure through SIP programme, so to ease out the stress of students and to prepare them for the upcoming challenges, GLBIMR under the dynamic leadership of its visionary Director General, Dr. Urvashi Makkar, organized a unique Expert Talk Series on “Stress Management for Becoming Successful Corporate Professional” on February 07, 2017, where Mr. V.K Bansal, a renowned motivational trainer was the resource person.
Dr. Makkar welcomed Mr.Bansal and shared that this session will help the students in learning new ways to manage stress at work place which will contribute not only in increasing their productivity but also living a happy life throughout. Mr. V. K Bansal charmed the audience with his immense knowledge about success and happiness in life and how these two are interrelated to each other. He shared various anger management and stress management techniques with the students.

The session was designed to build self-awareness, resilience and to empower individuals to recognize workplace stress and tackle stress-related challenges at work through effective strategies. This session gave insights of the pressure at work place and how it can be dealt by maintaining proper balance. We are sure that the session released the stress levels of students leaving them more energized & charged up for the upcoming academic commitments.

Global Talk Series on “Management of Technology, Innovations and Change” @ GLBIMR

Reinventing management education has been the key cornerstone of GLBIMR, we believe in imparting knowledge in the most innovative and creative manner. Keeping the same focus, GLBIMR organized Global Talk Series, a 30-hours module on “Management of Technology, Innovations and Change” from January 21 – 28, 2017 at its Greater Noida campus. The initiative was yet another step towards the Innovative pedagogy under the dynamic leadership of Mr. Pankaj Agarwal, Vice Chairman, GL Bajaj Group of Institutions and Dr. Urvashi Makkar, Director General, GLBIMR Greater Noida. The Key Resource person of this Global Talk Series was eminent consultant, Mr. Ashish Patel, Director, Morgan Franklin Consulting, VA, USA.

GLBIMR witnessed a week full of intellectual discussions and knowledge sharing session during the Global Talk Series week. In the valedictory session Dr. Urvashi Makkar extended gratitude to Mr. Ashish Patel for imparting some of the golden hours of knowledge to GLBIMR students. Dr. Makkar said that this highly customized Global Talk Series would definitely prove to be the transforming phase for most of the students.

As part of the module students were evaluated throughout the session on various parameters.
Case study analysis, team presentations and group discussions were part of the interactive talk series which helped students to think beyond classroom learning and apply situational, logical & analytical skills. Based on their performance 9 students were conferred with Star Performer Award. Lucky Tiwari, Priyanka Jaiswal, Digvijay Singh, Chirag Malhotra, Gucci Reena, Iftiquar Alam, Saurabh Sharma, Rahul Kumar and Sumit Sunejagrabbed Star Performer Awards with their outstanding performance during the sessions. It was a moment of pride for the winners who gleamed with joy & delightfulness.

The Global Talk series raised the academic & intellectual quotient of our students by providing wonderful insights related to global research platforms which will help them explore various opportunities in Research & Development. GLBIMR is preparing the students for Global Competitiveness and participation in Global Talk series will eventually help them score good positions in Summer Internship & Final Placement drives.

Institute of Management & Research (GLBIMR) & Delhi Management Association (DMA) jointly organized a National Conference on “PLOT- Potential Leaders of Tomorrow” on January 24, 2017, Tuesday at India Habitat Centre, Lodhi Road, New Delhi.
