Saraswati Poojan on Basant Panchami on January 22, 2018 @ GLBIMR
Goddess Saraswati is the epitome of learning, wisdom, education and knowledge, so on the occasion of Basant Panchami GLBIMR family sought blessings of Goddess Saraswati by performing conventional “puja”. Dr. Urvashi Makkar, Director General, GLBIMR lighted the lamp along with all members of GLBIMR family. She shared that an Educational Institute is the temple of knowledge and at GLBIMR we continuously try to keep the sanity of this temple intact by providing best knowledge and ethical learning environment. Saraswati Puja is just another attempt by the Institute to preserve the Indian culture and to impart a sense of respect towards long-established traditions.
Birthday Celebrations of Vice Chairman @GLBIMR
GLBIMR family celebrated the birthday of their youth icon, Mr. Pankaj Agarwal, Vice Chairman, GL Bajaj Educational Institutions with great enthusiasm, zeal and fervour. Dr. Urvashi Makkar, Director General, GLBIMR, along with all faculty and staff members extended him warm wishes and thanked him for being constant source of motivation and guidance for the Institute. Mr. Pankaj Agarwal was overwhelmed by the gesture and thanked everyone.
GLBIMR organized an Interactive Panel Discussion on “Intraprenuership – Leveraging Ownership to Deliver Excellence” on January 17, 2018, in collaboration with WF Global Networks under the visionary guidance of Mr. Pankaj Agarwal, Vice-Chairman, GL Bajaj Educational and Dr.Urvashi Makkar, Director General, GLBIMR.
Mr. Pankaj Agarwal delivered the inaugural address and shared that Inculcating Entrepreneurship culture among the students is highly beneficial to not only the students & Institute, but also to the nation. Dr.Urvashi Makkar welcomed the guests and emphasized that the importance of entrepreneurship education is derived from the importance of the entrepreneurs to the economic system as Entrepreneurship is the cornerstone of economic growth and financial independence. The eminent panelists were Dr. Vinod Shashtri, Head Academics, Centre for Innovation & Entrepreneurship, Bennett University, Mr. R.K. Chandra, Advisor & Program Director, NIESBUD, Mr. Sanjeev Gupta, Consultant, Loyalty & Cashback Solutions and Mr. Chandrashekhar Singh, Founder & CEO, Hellopunditji.com.
The Panel discussion witnessed insightful views by all the eminent panelists, which motivated the students by sharing their life experiences. The session encouraged the students to explore their entrepreneurial streak.
E-Cell – Flying Minds Inauguration on January 17, 2018 @ GLBIMR
GL Bajaj Institute of Management & Research (GLBIMR), Greater Noida launched E-Cell (Entrepreneurship Development Cell) – Flying Minds, dedicated to promoting the spirit of entrepreneurship among students. Mr. Pankaj Agarwal, Vice-Chairman, GL Bajaj Educational Institutions inaugurated the E-Cell – Flying Minds on January 17, 2018 along with Dr.Urvashi Makkar, Director General, GLBIMR, Dr. Vinod Shashtri, Head Academics, Centre for Innovation & Entrepreneurship, Bennett University, Mr. R.K. Chandra, Advisor & Program Director, NIESBUD, Mr. Sanjeev Gupta, Consultant, Loyalty & Cashback Solutions and Mr. Chandrashekhar Singh, Founder & CEO, Hellopunditji.com, in presence of all faculty , staff and students.
Mr. Pankaj Agarwal shared that, our vision is to develop, sustain and deliver the Entrepreneurship spirit among students in their quest to achieve success in establishing their venture at all junctures. Dr. Urvashi Makkar shared that this E-Cell will be primarily responsible for fostering entrepreneurship amongst students and assisting budding entrepreneurs by providing them with necessary resources. E-Cell will also encourage students to come up with their business ideas and take initiatives to give a concrete platform to them to showcase their entrepreneurial talent.
Thalassemia Awareness Session @GLBIMR on Jan, 16, 2018
GLBIMR not only focuses on academic excellence, but on overall development and well being of each one associated with the Institute. Keeping the same intent, GLBIMR, under the visionary guidance of Dr. Urvashi Makkar organized a “Special Session on Thalassemia Awareness” as part of the Expert Talk Series, in association with Rotary Club, Safdarjung, Delhi on January 16, 2018.
Dr Tejinder Singh, Orthoptist from Moorefield’s Eye Hospital, UK was the key resource person while, Ms. Poonam Juneja, President, Rotary Club, Safdurjung, Delhi, was the Guest of Honour. Dr Urvashi Makkar, Director General, GLBIMR; warmly welcomed both the guests and extended gratitude for gracing the session. She shared that prevention in better than cure and awareness is the key to prevention, therefore everyone must keep themselves updated about Thalassemia. Ms. Poonam Juneja shared that, Rotary Club is working selflessly to help people suffering from Thalassemia and awareness about the disorder can prevent lot of problems.
Dr. Tajinder Singh stole the session with her intense & thought provoking address, she highlighted the importance of “awareness” with the help of a heart touching short movie – “Kaash”, depicting the importance of “awareness” about the disorder. She also enlightened the audience with important facts about Thalassemia.
The Objective of the session was to help students in becoming aware of Thalassemia, from renowned medical experts. Each one present in the session was touched by the session and almost everybody decided to get the test done in near future to join hands in the fight against thalassemia.
Technovation Club organized “TECH-ACT”- Exploring the real world Scenario with the blend of Technology
Technovation Club of GLBIMR organized “TECH-ACT”- Exploring the real World Scenario with the blend of Technology on December 21, 2017 , which was huge success. Students presented precise acts through their skills and talent to showcase the real world scenario with the blend of technology.
The event, which witnessed great zeal & enthusiasm from the students, was judged Dr Anand Rai and Dr. Brijendra Yadav.

Panel Discussion on “Role of Youth in Nation Building” by Dakshina Foundation
A Panel Discussion on Role of Youth in Nation Building was organized by Dakshina Foundation on January 10, 2018 at PGDAV College, Delhi. The event was organized under the astute leadership of Ms. Upasana Agarwal, Founder Director, Dakshina Foundation and Dr. Urvashi Makkar, Director General, GLBIMR, who is also the Co-Director of the Foundation. Dakshina Foundation is a group of dedicated individuals from the diverse diaspora, working towards giving back to the society. Their focus is to create awakening amongst the youth of country and make them realise their responsibilities towards the nation.
During her address, Dr. Makkar shared that since the youth of a nation shapes and moulds its present and paves the way for its future, this panel discussion is hugely relevant. The young generation shoulders a huge segment of the responsibility of nation building; not the politicians or the policy makers alone. The chief Guest of the panel discussion was Dr. R. K. Khandal, President R&D and Business Development, India Glycols Limited and the Key Note Speaker was Dr. Sanjay Shrivastava, Vice Chancellor, Manav Rachna University, The event was graced by the presence of Dr. R.K.
