GLBIMR Welcomes PGDM Batch 2018-20 !

GLBIMR believes in laying a strong foundation to the management career that lies ahead of the young aspiring managers. In keeping this belief integral, GLBIMR is organizing 5 Days extensive Induction Program from July 09-13, 2018 for the new PGDM Batch 2018-20 on the theme –“Corporate Expectations & Insights for Aspiring Managers”.

The one week long induction period comprises the Knowledge Sharing Sessions, Alumni Talk series, Motivational Sessions by renowned speakers, Inspirational Movie Premiere, Management Games and Cognitive Skill Enhancement Sessions where the students will get an opportunity to interact with eminent personalities from various walks of life. These sessions aim at bringing the students, from different educational streams and backgrounds, at par with one another, familiarize students with the campus environment, acquaint them with the PGDM Program curriculum and making their transition from campus to corporate a smooth one.

Continuing the legacy of disseminating knowledge relevant to Corporate Readiness, Expert Talk Series at G L Bajaj Institute of Management & Research, Greater Noida, Special Session on “Excelling in Life & Coping with Failures” by Dr. (Prof.) AKS Suryavanshi, Vice Chancellor, SGT University was organized for PGDM Batch 2017-19 on April 10, 2018, under the visionary guidance of Dr. Urvashi Makkar, Director General, GLBIMR.

Dr. Makkar highlighted during her address to students that they must aspire big & dream big to achieve great heights in their professional lives; at GLBIMR, students must focus upon achieving excellence to emerge as future leaders. She warmly welcomed the esteemed guest and shared that the energy and ardour that Dr. Suryavanshi possessed is an inspiration and motivation for the budding managers at GLBIMR to achieve beyond their own expectations. During the highly interactive session, two of the most pertinent concerns of the students were addressed in the context of the present competitive era, “Failures and Resignation”. The students discussed about the way forward as professionals who are ready to match their suitability in business organizations and learnt how to thrive on the challenges in their career ahead by planning their knowledge and competency, infusing pear-learning, developing core domain knowledge and being non-judgmental about our competition. Congratulating GLBIMR on the extensive Soft Skills Program, Dr. Suryavanshi expressed it is a pre-requisite to imbibe conflict resolution and gender neutrality as our traits.

GLBIMR-ians were enthralled by the session and instilled the words – “Be sincere and believe in people!”

GLBIMR Students participated a Half day Workshop on “Social Media-Use and Effect” April 10, 2018 conducted by AICTE

In continuation to our endeavor to provide students corporate workshops, GLBIMR, students attended a Half Day Workshop on “Social Media-Use and Effect” by AICTE at AICTE Auditorium, New Delhi on April 10, 2018, under the aegis of Dr. Urvashi Makkar, Director General, GLBIMR. The objective of this workshop was to promote the use of social media for integration of Educational Institutions at the national and global level.

The workshop started with the inaugural address by the Chief Guest, Shri Satya Pal Singh, Minister of State, HRD. Honorable minister talked about the pro and cons of social media by individuals at large. He also emphasized on preserving knowledge by “expressing, sharing and expanding”. According to him, besides science, technology & knowledge, the spiritual knowledge has its own prominence and relevance in the 21st century.

Dr. Anil Sarup, Secretary, School Education, emphasized on relevance of social media for transformative thinking and how positive work of an individual can reach to the masses with lightning speed.
Experts from MyGov discussed how Government of India is promoting its big initiatives in the area of health, education (MOOCs and SWAYAM) and other social welfare schemes through social media tools. They also suggested that each Institution should have an active social media cell, so that they can connect not only with the student community, but also extend to nearby academic institutions & community living to enhance their brand image.

PGDM Students took keen interest in understanding the trends and technologies to equip for future ready.

G L Bajaj Institute of Management & Research (GLBIMR), Greater Noida, is organizing the Induction Program for PGDM Batch 2018-20, from July 09, 2018- July 13, 2018 on “Corporate Expectations & Insights for Aspiring Managers”

The Induction Program aims to provide direction to the young minds and enlighten them about how to focus their energies during the PGDM program so as to get maximum benefit out of the program. The main objective of this program is to sensitize the young budding managers with the pragmatic experiences of the corporate world and its expectations from them in the challenging and changing Global scenario.

There will be Corporate Expert Knowledge Sharing Sessions each day where, panelists in each session will be sharing their views on the theme, “Corporate Expectations and Insights for Aspiring Managers”.

Alfresco and HR Club Organized “चक्रव्यूह” on April 7, 2018 @ GLBIMR

GLBIMR, in its continuous endeavour to give 360 degree holistic development to its PGDM students, Alfresco and HR Club organized “चक्रव्यूह”, under the guidance of Dr. Urvashi Makkar, Director General, GLBIMR on April 07, 2018 at its Greater Noida Campus.

The event allowed participants to explore the contours of their imagination and check their business acumen.

The event was categorized into two rounds:

ROUND 1- Ten Second Zone

In this round the question was to shown to the participants for 10sec and the team had to answer the question. The round checked the participants’ business acumen and how much they know about corporate. This was as an elimination round. Total 12 Teams participated ( 3 Members per Team).

ROUND 2: Know Your Tags

Six Teams Qualified for Final Round- Know Your Tags. This round included audio visual question related to corporate world. Participants had a hard time and gave their best.

Filler Round: For the enthusiastic audience fillers round kept. Students enjoyed as well as learned a lot about corporate.

The Result of the Event are as follows:

Winners: Ashwini Kumar (Section A), Abhishek Gaur (Section A) and Pankaj (Section A)

1st Runner Up: Kanika Garg (Section B), Kislay (Section B) and Harsh Jain (Section B)

2nd Runner Up: Vibhu Rastogi (Section D), Sonali Raj (Section D) and Shruti Priya (Section D)

GLBIMR-ians Learn Through an Insightful Series of “Special Sessions on Communication Skills” by Renowned Corporate Trainer Ms. Pammi Talwar from February 20-March 27, 2018

Dedicated towards the holistic development of the budding managers, G L Bajaj Institute of Management & Research organized “Special Sessions on Communication Skills” for PGDM Batch 2017-19, by renowned Corporate Trainer, Ms. Pammi Talwar, under the guidance of Dr. Urvashi Makkar, Director General, GLBIMR.

The sessions commenced from Tuesday, February 20, 2018 and were highly interactive in nature. Ms.Pammi Talwar, who carries with her, more than 35 years of rich experience in Training & Consultancy with leading Corporate Houses, provided a platform of experiential learning for the students. During the sessions, concepts like Confidence Building, Triggering a Positive Attitudinal Shift, Maintaining the Right Posture and Composure for effective Non-Verbal Communication and Role Plays to Successfully Crack Interviews were put into practice by the students.

The 6-Day session concluded on Tuesday, March 27, 2018 with an enlightening interaction with 13 year old Guest Speaker Master Aarav Bindra, who shared his soulful journey of life being a specially-abled gifted prodigy. Aarav, though born visually impaired, presented the students with his insights and a reflection of his invigorating spirit; the enthusiastic batch of GLBIMR was motivated and moved with his simplicity, dedication, discipline, talent and clarity of thought spanning beyond his age. Aarav was accompanied by his mother MS. Amarpreet Kaur; during a heart-warming dialogue with the students, she expressed that she feels special being the mother of a very special and gifted child like Aarav.

Portraying her pride and confidence in Aarav, Ms. Pammi Talwar recited her composition dedicated to him:

इबादत की थी सपनो की, दुआ में ख्वाब थे

क्यू पूर्ण नहीं हो सकते, आसमानो से जवाब मांगे थे!

न गिनकर न सोच्कर मांगे थे हमने तो बस बेहिसाब मांगे थे,

बड़ी शिद्दत से हमने कुछ सपने ख़ास मांगे थे !

कह दो आसमानो से दीवाने आये है, हमे ख्वाबो से इश्क है, इश्क है…..

Dr. Urvashi Makkar shared that the experience of interacting with Aarav and the insights & knowledge that had culminated during these Special Sessions were an enabler for the entire GLBIMR Fraternity to take-up challenges in life and tread on the path perceived difficult, even impossible.

All the Students of PGDM Batch 2017-19 are hereby informed that the Alfresco and HR Clubs is organizing a business quiz competition “चक्रव्यूह” on Saturday, 7th April, 2018.

चक्रव्यूह will allow the participants to explore their knowledge of business world and check their business acumen. The event is distinctly categorized into two rounds, that is:

ROUND 1 – Preliminary Round

The round checks the participants’ business acumen and how much can they really know about the corporate world.

ROUND 2- Semi-Final Round: Ten Second Zone

It will be an elimination round.

ROUND 3: Finale Round: Know Your Tags
