Extensive Media Coverage of Sankalp 2K18- An Inter Institute Annual Cultural Fest

We are delighted to share that GL Bajaj Institute of Management and Research, under the dynamic leadership of Mr. Pankaj Agarwal, Vice Chairman, GL Bajaj Educational Institutions and aegis of Dr. Urvashi Makkar, Director General, GLBIMR, organized celebrated “Sankalp 2K18”- An Inter Institute Annual Cultural Fest on December 01, 2018, Saturday. The event received extensive media coverage in leading newspapers and online portals like Deshbandhu, Hindustan, MBA Rendezvous, Parichowk.com, Tennews and The Knowledge Review. We thank our Media Patrons for all the support they have extended to us.

The one-day extravaganza of art and culture witnessed participation of more than 500 students from 50 Institutes across Delhi NCR. Cash prizes of more than Rs. 1 Lakh were awarded to the participants for the best performances on the stage; mementos, certificates and gift vouchers from our corporate sponsors like Anmol Industries, Safexpress, Freshen & Worlds of Wonder were also awarded.

GLBIMR presented a gala amalgamation of culture and music that was rejoiced by every soul. It was indeed a stimulating & interactive platform for young talent and spirit.

An Interactive Sessions on “Marketing of Services” by Ms. Veena Kumar @ GLBIMR on December 3rd, 5th & 7th, 2018

GL Bajaj Institute of Management and Research, Greater Noida, organized Two-Day Special Sessions on “Marketing of Services” by renowned Corporate Trainer Ms. Veena Kumar on December 3rd, 5th & 7th, 2018 for PGDM Batch 2017–19. This initiative was taken under the astute leadership of Mr. Pankaj Agarwal, Vice Chairman, GL Bajaj Educational Institutions and stewardship of Dr. Urvashi Makkar, Director General, GLBIMR. The sessions were designed with the objective to enhance the Corporate Readiness in the upcoming Placement Drives to be conducted by companies of repute for the current batch.

To mark the commencement of the workshop, ceremonial lamp was lighted by Dr. Urvashi Makkar, Director General, GLBIMR along with the students, faculty and staff members. Dr. Makkar welcomed the guest trainer and reinforced the students to understand the role and importance of this unique training session to amplify their skills for the ongoing campus recruitment; she resonated with the idea for the students to appreciate their role as a true ‘facilitator’ and ‘business developer’ rather than just being silent participants in the service delivery. Ms. Veena Kumar helped the students to assess their competence in terms of marketing their skills and enabling them to develop a more positive attitude towards marketing irrespective of the barrier of language. She also equipped the students with process, tools and techniques of Selling of Services.

Ms. Veena Kumar ensured the participants lucidly comprehend the key attributes of effective marketing and help the participants assess their competence in terms of the marketing of services and then enabling them to develop a more positive attitude towards selling and customer handling. The budding managers at GLBIMR were spellbound and amazed to learn the innovative techniques to improve their skills while incorporating small yet significant measures in their daily routines combined with exciting role play exercises and management games, it was a great learning experience thoroughly relished by the students.

GLBIMR believes that in order to be a successful professional, it is very essential for the students to learn to maintain a balance between academic schedule and personal life. The PGDM Batch 2018-20 is gearing up for their first ever corporate exposure through SIP programme, so to ease out the pressure of students and to prepare them for the upcoming challenges, GLBIMR under the astute leadership of Mr. Pankaj Agarwal, Vice Chairman, GL Bajaj Educational Institutions and stewardship of Dr. Urvashi Makkar, Director General, organized a Special Session on “Stress Management for becoming Successful Corporate Professional” under Expert Talk Series by Mr. V.K. Bansal, Former Vice- President, Shri Ram Group, Dr. Pooran Chandra Pandey, CEO, Dialogue of Civilizations Research Institute, Berlin & Ms. Deepika Shergill, renowned Consultant and Trainer on December 06, 2018, Thursday. The distinguished guest of the session was Ms. Pammi Talwar, a renowned Corporate Trainer and Life Skills Expert.

Dr. Makkar during her address welcomed the guest speakers and shared that this session will benefit the students in uncovering new ways to handle stress at the workplace which will contribute not only in enhancing their productivity but also living a peaceful life throughout. Mr. V. K Bansal charmed the audience with his immense wisdom about success and happiness in life and how these two are reciprocally connected to each other. He also shared various rage management and stress management techniques with the students. Dr. Pooran Chandra Pandey highlighted that stress isn’t always bad, a little bit of stress can help to stay focused, energetic, and able to meet new challenges in the workplace. He also advised the students to channelize their emotions and have maturity of mind. Ms. Deepika Shergill helped the budding corporate professionals to understand the different levels of stress, its effects on personal and professional life and techniques to manage it in the corporate world. She also advised the students to pick up a hobby as it will reduce stress, alleviate high blood pressure and stimulate one’s creativity.

The session was designed to build self-awareness, resilience and to empower individuals to recognize workplace stress and tackle stress-related challenges at work through effective strategies. This session gave insights of the pressure at the workplace and how it can be dealt by maintaining proper balance. It was extensively interactive with the focus upon experiential learning to help GLBIMR-ians achieve great success at both professional & personal front.

GLBIMR’s CSR Club is organizing a contribution drive titled “Odha do Zindagi ( “ओढ़ा दो ज़िन्दगी” ) in association with Goonj- NGO. The contribution drive will be from December 7 to December 15 to give back to society and support the needy ones in the coming winter as an act of humanity.
The objective of this activity is to bring joy on the faces of the underprivileged people of our country by contributing usable old clothes and various other things as mentioned below.

This competition is a platform to demonstrate ones artistic capability by creating a Warli Painting over Microsoft Paint.

Two Days Certification Programme on “Advanced Microsoft Excel” by MSME @ GLBIMR on December 04 & 05, 2018

GL Bajaj Institute of Management and Research, Greater Noida organized Two Days Certification Programme on “Advanced Microsoft Excel” by Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise (MSME), Government of India, on December 4th & 5th, 2018 under the guidance of Mr. Pankaj Agarwal, Vice Chairman, GL Bajaj Educational Institutions and aegis of Dr. Urvashi Makkar, Director General, GLBIMR. The Expert Speaker for the session was Mr. Abhishek Mukherjee, founder of Knowledge Talk and the Resource Person was Mr. Himanshu Kumar Dhar, MIS Professional & a renowned corporate trainer.

Dr. Makkar during her address welcomed the guests and inspired the students to keep themselves updated with new tools & technologies required in the highly competitive market scenario. She emphasized on learning the core principles of Advanced MS –Excel and explained how the certification will help them to use the advanced features from the grassroot level, which will further unravel new possibilities for students with the continuous developments being rapidly embraced by corporate. This is an area generating new employment and career opportunities for students worldwide. Mr. Abhishek Mukherjee emphasized the need of MS- Excel as a mandate to everyone’s Curriculum because every second job in the market needs Excel proficiency. Mr. Himanshu Kumar Dhar who carries 13 years of rich industry experience, provided students with the necessary tools and learning techniques for implementation of Advanced MS –Excel in the organizations. He covered Spreadsheets, Formulae implementation, Pivot Tables, Excel Macros, Binary Classification, Calculating Positive & Negative Predictive Values, Data Representation, ROC Curve etc. The pedagogy of the workshop included the optimal combination of simulation exercises and real-time dashboard designing to make the workshop more interactive.

The program provided an exuberant platform to the students where they learned the intricacies of Advanced Microsoft Excel. All the students were enriched by the intellectual progression and were awarded a Certification by MSME at the completion of the program.
