Startup Summit on Business Ecosystems, Collaboration and Co-creation

GL Bajaj Institute of Management & Research, Greater Noida organized “Startup Summit” on “Business Ecosystems, Collaboration and Co-creation” on Saturday, October 19, 2019 in PGDM Auditorium, GLBIMR, Greater Noida campus.
The event started with lighting of ceremonial lamp and invocation of Goddess Saraswati. In the welcome address, Mr. Pankaj Agarwal, Vice Chairman, GL Bajaj Educational Institutions stressed upon the need of entrepreneurship for the growth of the nation. The inaugural address was delivered by Dr. Ajay Kumar, Director, GLBIMR in which he stressed upon the importance of startups, various stages in the startup and how the innovative ideas can result in a successful business opportunity. In the address by Chief Guest Dr. DK Aggarwal, Chairman & Managing Director SMC Investments & Advisors Ltd. & President, PHDCCI discussed about the strong macroeconomic indicators and business ecosystems in India.
The first phase of panel discussion was on the theme “Dimensions of Business Ecosystem in India” led by Mr. Raminderr Pal Singh Bakshi, Founder, The Art Culinaire, The Baking Lab & Samossay and Mr. Khalid Isar, Founder & CEO iTech Ecommerce LLP, Global Business Partner, Alibaba.com. The experts shared their own journey as well as guided the aspiring entrepreneurs for their own ventures. The participants asked their queries related to the challenges in the startup launch as well as sustainability of the business plans.
The second phase of panel discussion was on the theme “Collaboration & Competition in Business Ecosystem” led by Mr. Anil Kumar Gupta, Startup Mentor, Ideapreneur Growth, Ms. Neha Bahl, Media & Brand Communication Expert, Founder, Qube Communication, Mr. Pramod K Singh, Co-founder & Director, Board of Governors, AICAPD, Mr. Vinayak Kumar Lal, Senior General Manager, DS Group and Mr. Vinay Ahuja, MD & CEO PaisaArrangers.com. The experts stressed upon the need of collaboration for expansion and business process optimisation. The startups generally start very small and they grow exponentially. The entrepreneurs may not be ready for so many tasks with ample resources, hence the collaborations are needed for success.
The third phase of panel discussion was on the theme “Build & Manage a Co-creation Ecosystem” led by Mr. Govind Singh, Founder, Unnat Kisan, Ms. Khyati Minglani, Founder, Trailblazer PR and Ms. Sneha Saikia, Freelance Chef & Entrepreneur. The experts shared their own startup journey starting with the ideation, various challenges they faced and how they were able to succeed in the competitive environment. The experts also discussed about the co-creation ecosystems, which give opportunity to startups to complement their efforts with others.
The summit had enthusiastic audience comprising of students and faculty members of other universities and institutions. The attendees were benefited with the knowledge and experience shared by the distinguished guests.

Signing of Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between Cengage Learning and GLBIMR on September 26, 2019

GL Bajaj Institute of Management and Research, Greater Noida signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Cengage Learning India Private Limited on September 26, 2019 at GLBIMR, Greater Noida under the visionary guidance of Mr. Pankaj Agarwal, Vice Chairman, GL Bajaj Educational Institutions. This MOU was signed by Dr. Ajay Kumar, Director, GLBIMR and Mr. Alok Srivastava, Managing Director, Cengage Learning India Private Limited. Dr. Ajay Kumar welcomed the guests by presenting a sapling as a token of greeting.
This MOU is a form of mutual commitment to bridge the gap between Academia and Industry. The MOU aims at providing ed2go online courses in partnership with University of Texas at Arlington, USA.

Global Talk Series by Mr. Naveen Pathak on September 26, 2019.

GL Bajaj Institute of Management and Research, Greater Noida organized a special session on “Entrepreneurship” under its “Global Talk Series” on September 26, 2019, Thursday at PGDM Auditorium, GLBIMR campus under the guidance of Dr. Ajay Kumar, Director, GLBIMR. The expert speaker for the session was Mr. Naveen Pathak, Senior Partner, Entry India LLC, USA.

The event started with lighting of ceremonial lamp and invocation of Goddess Saraswati. In the welcome address, Dr. Ajay Kumar, Director, GLBIMR welcomed the guests by presenting a sapling and told the audience that the nation needs more and more entrepreneurs to meet the demands of next generations. He said that the management students must acquire the necessary knowledge and skills to start the new businesses. He also said that there are many success stories in India specially in technology and e-commerce domain but still we lag behind the developed nations.

Global Talk Series aimed to provide students an exposure for learning from the experiences of the renowned and established personalities. The event witnessed enriching and enlightening session by Mr. Naveen Pathak, Senior Partner, Entry India LLC, USA. He stressed upon the management students’ role in the development of the society. He said that successful business ideas come from the real world. We should not worry about the huge investments for the start ups instead we should start with a defined small boundary. Once the venture is successful, we can scale it up.

The session had around 200 students from the PGDM Batch 2019-21. The students asked their queries about business ideas, implementation strategies, entrepreneurship in the digital age, internet based businesses, payment and taxation issues, etc. Our expert guided the students and motivated them to become job providers rather than becoming job seekers.

Research Seminar by Dr. Arvind Bhatt, Associate Professor, GLBIMR.

GL Bajaj Institute of Management and Research, Greater Noida, under the guidance of Dr. Ajay Kumar, Director, GLBIMR conducted a Research Seminar on “Entrepreneurial attitude of Business Graduates towards adopting E – Commerce (A future perspective for Sharing Economy)” on August 26, 2019, Monday in the campus.

The seminar witnessed enriching and enlightening session by Dr. Arvind Bhatt, Associate Professor, GLBIMR. The seminar aimed to provide a platform to faculty members to share their research work, presentations on contemporary issues and practices so as to enrich their work and influence the research agenda. The research focuses on the study of growth of E-commerce in India, to find out the scope for Business graduates to move into E- commerce and to understand the issues of the Business graduates for starting E-Business in India.
