GLBIMR Students participated in Aaj Tak Talk show
Under the stewardship of Dr. Urvashi Makkar, Director General; GLBIMR #PGDM students got a golden opportunity to participate in talk show held on 6th & 7th Dec 2016 at Taj Palace Hotel, New Delhi by Aaj Tak. The agenda of the talk show was SurgicalStrike by Indian Army over Pakistan and Demonetization drive. The vibrant guests’ panel at the talk show included Mr. Amit Shah-President, BJP, Ranvir Singh-Actor, Anushka Sharma-Actor, Raju Srivastava-Standup Comedian, Entire team of the leading TV show “Bhabhi ji Ghar par hai”, Prakash Javadekar-Union Minister, MHRD, Vipul D Shah, eminent film writer & Producer, Bharti Singh and Krishna Abhishek of Comedy Circus fame. The event was an extravaganza of Indian Politics, Cinema and Television.
Students of GLBIMR took active participation in the talk show & expressed their views on the topics and also asked questions from the panelist on Demonetization. This talk show enabled the students to understand the brighter & sharper aspects of digital money and the broader prospects of demonetization in expansion of Nation’s Economy.
Through this extended effort of GLBIMR, PGDM students got a chance to be a part of such an effervescent talk show and also understand the impact of demonetization. An event like this contributes in the holistic development of students.
GLBIMR Students @ Aaj Tak –Discussion on Demonetization
Under the dynamic leadership of Dr. Urvashi Makkar, Director General, GLBIMR management students got a unique opportunity to participate in most popular talk show held on Aaj Tak” on 2nd Dec 2016 at The India Today Group, Film City Noida, The subject of the talk show was “Demonetization”, which is the most discussed topic among public at large.
The eminent panelist at the talk show were Ravi Shankar Prasad current Union Minister holding Law and Justice and Ministry of Information Technology, Dr. Sambit Patra Spokesperson BJP, Meera Sanyal-Aam Aadmi Party speaker,Ashok Lahiri economist, Sudhindra Bhadoria BSP & Ranjeeta Ranjan-Sansad congress. Talk show was anchored by Rahul Kanwal-India TV and Anjana Om kashyap-Aaj Tak.
Eminent speakers discussed the topic on digital cash, how to focus on e-payment and how to check and control flow of black money in economy. Students of GLBIMR expressed their views on the talk show and also asked questions from the panelist on Demonetization. Talk show was attended by around 100 GLBIMR students. Talk show enabled the students to understand the brighter & sharper aspects of digital money and how can demonetization helps the economy to expand. Through this extended effort of GLBIMR, PGDM students got the chance to understand the impact of demonetization & how can e-payment & digital banking can replace cash transactions.
With the objective to develop bright aspiring enthusiastic students into management leaders, change agents in the global arena, GLBIMR takes qualitative initiatives to provide professional platforms ensuring holistic development to its PGDM students. In tandem with their aims and objectives, GLBIMR, under the vibrant leadership of Dr. Urvashi Makkar, Director General; GLBIMR organised a 30 hours Certification Program by Winning Mantra on ‘Placement Readiness Enhancement Program (PREP)’ in its Greater Noida campus. The 30 hours certification started from November 17, 2016 –November 29, 2016. The Expert Speakers for the PREP session on November 17 and November 19, 2016 were Mr. Pramod Joshi, founder and partner, Winning Mantra and Col. Aman Bedi, Director, Healing Touches.
Mr. Pramod Joshi in his invigorating address shared with students Personality Mapping techniques. Col. Bedi motivated the students for the upcoming placement season. He shared the tips for active participation in group discussion and interview under which he highlighted the importance of smart working and effective communication skills. The sessions included real time practice of group discussion and personal interview with detailed and personalized feedback to the students for necessary corrections. Mr. Himanshu Talwar, Head, CRC, GLBIMR concluded the session with a vote of thanks to Mr. Pramod Joshi and Col. Aman Bedi.
In its constant endeavor to disseminate the intellectual knowledge and to provide learning platform to the management aspirants for their holistic development, GLBIMR under the visionary leadership of Dr. Urvashi Makkar, Director General; GLBIMR, is organizing a one day workshop on Management Education & Employability: Opportunities &
Challenges on December 17, 2016, in its Greater Noida campus. A panel of Senior Corporate Experts will be conducting the workshop.
This Workshop is uniquely designed for budding managers to understand the depth of competition in the global scenario and the expectations of the corporate world. Through this workshop participants will get the insights about the employability skills required from a management aspirant like communication skills, team work skills, problem solving skills, initiative and enterprise skills, self management skills and time management skills.
Workshop will be divided under three Sessions. First session will include issues, opportunities and challenges in management education. Second session will broadly cover, understanding the needs and expectations of the corporate from the management aspirants. Last session will capture identifying the skill sets, developing a strategy and charting a road map of improvement for the management aspirants. All the participants will also be receiving certificate of participation on conclusion of the program.
This workshop will help participants to frame a meaningful vision for themselves and will give clarity for their career path.
Workshop on Online Share Trading through Demat account @ GLBIMR With the objective of providing online share trading experience to its PGDM students, GLBIMR under the sagacious guidance of Dr. Urvashi Makkar, Director, General, GLBIMR organised a workshop on “Online Share Trading through Demat Account” in association with Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) on November 18, 2016.The Chief Guest of the event was Mr. Pulock Bhattacharji, Vice President, BSE Institute Limited , Mr. Ashish Goel, Vice President, Elite Wealth and Mr. Vikram Luthra ,COO, Elite Wealth were the key resource persons. Dr. Makkar welcomed the guests and encouraged the students to learn the intricacies of online share trading through Demat Account. She advised students to make full utilization of this workshop and learn the basics of online trading which will help them in developing a habit of planning their investments. The expert trainer Mr. Ashish, helped students to open their Demat account and shared with them the importance of trading in market terminal. He also shared about the liquidity and volatility aspects of the trade. Mr. Pulock Bhattacharji felicitated the students with the certificate for the outstanding performance in 30-Hours BSE certification on Basic course on Stock Market, which was conducted by BSE at GLBIMR, Greater Noida campus. This workshop provided the real time knowledge of stock trading and other financial instruments and it will open the whole new opportunity to the students in the domain of financial market in India and Abroad.
Management Development Program (MDP) on “Corporate Expectations from Budding Managers: Bridging the Gap between Theoretical and Factual Aspects”
In its constant endeavor to disseminate the intellectual knowledge and provide platform for industry and academia to work for the holistic development of management professionals; GLBIMR organised MDP on “Corporate Expectations from Budding Managers : Bridging the Gap between Theoretical and Factual Aspects” on November 8, 2016 under the aegis of Dr. Urvashi Makkar, Director General, GLBIMR .The event witnessed participation of more than 200 delegates from various universities, institutes and academia. The Chief Guest of the event was Ms. Mekhla Sinha, Executive Director, GHRDC. Mr. Sudhir Zutshi – Director Industry of Government Affairs, South Asia at Underwriters Laboratories and Mr. Debashish Das, Founder and Partner, Unleash Potentia were the resource persons.
Dr. Makkar in her address welcomed the guests and emphasized on the way this program will help the budding managers to gain an understanding of expectations of the corporate world. She shared that this MDP will focus on identifying and minimizing the gap, and equipping the budding managers to comprehend and muddle through the expectations of the corporate world. She also discussed about important factors that every aspirant must have to be successful, which according to her are integrity, commitment for excellence, learning potential, go- getter attitude and technical expertise.
Ms. Mekhla Sinha encouraged students to face challenges of the corporate world with confidence. She shared her personal life experiences and very relevantly related them with corporate world scenario. She said that one should commit oneself towards excellence to achieve success in life. She urged students to move out of their comfort zones to climb the ladder of success in their organisations.
Mr. Sudhir Zutshi explained students about the NABC strategy of XYZ Analysis and also discussed about business model canvas structure. He explained students the importance of adapting the culture of the organisation. He shared that students should act as catalyst in the conversion of challenges into opportunities.
Mr. Debashish Dass discussed about Kats model or KSA approach. He highlighted that students should work on their knowledge, skills and attitude to fulfill the corporate expectations.
This MDP helped students to gain insights about corporate expectations which will help them in designing strategy for their career growth.
In an order to provide an extra edge over academic curriculum, GLBIMR under the visionary guidance of Dr. Urvashi Makkar, Director General; GLBIMR organised a multiple array of activities during September 2016 to provide all round development, and corporate exposure to its faculty and students. GLBIMR organised International Conference on “Innovations in Technology: A Roadmap for Achieving Global Competitiveness (ICIT-2K16)”, Mega Alumni Meet, Global Talk Series on Strategic Management delivered by Eminent Consultant Mr. Ashish Patel, Director, Morgan Franklin Consulting, VA, USA, joint talk series in collaboration with Delhi Management Assosciation (DMA), Students visit to AIMA 43rd National Management Convention “India in Asian Century.
All these activities provided an excellent learning opportunities and corporate exposure to the students.
