Live Project Experience in Outlook Group by GLBIMR Students

In the constant efforts to provide real and practical exposure of corporate working to the students, GLBIMR facilitated 22 students of PGDM 2018-20 Batch to undertake Live Project with Outlook Group in the capacity of Marketing Professionals for 15 days. The students through direct mentoring and field based learning, gained immense knowledge about the Selling process, Customer acquisition and handling, CRM software, Negotiation and Persuasion skills and also Business Development.

All the students worked enthusiastically with their industry mentors and also received Certificates for completion of the Live Project training. Many students have got summer internship opportunity with Outlook Group based on their performance that will develop them further for managerial responsibilities.

Launch of Research Lab @ GLBIMR

With a view to leverage the innovation thinking and provide a platform to academicians, researchers, and practitioners for sharing scientific research on multidisciplinary aspects, GLBIMR is announcing the launch of its Research Lab. This research oriented initiative has been taken under the educational leadership of Mr. Pankaj Agarwal, Vice Chairman, GL Bajaj Educational Institutions and Dr. Urvashi Makkar, Director General, GLBIMR.

The objective of this research lab is to promote a variety of research and scholarly initiatives in the field of management. It is envisaged that, GLBIMR would help in the growth of intellectual capital, not only within the institute, but also to provide budding researchers with a platform to broad base their research initiatives at various levels for times to come. The key initiatives would be Joint publication with international universities, extending professional guidance for research, In-house publication, Faculty development Workshops for developing research orientation and organizing national and international conferences.

Under this initiative, the first innovative assignment under GLBIMR research lab is in collaboration with Burgundy College of Business, France on crowd funding process/ Shared economy/ P2P Economy. The goal is to develop indepth knowledge on the various dimensions of Crowd Funding as the preferred option for Startups and SMEs. Till date, there has been little research done into the current and future risks of crowdfunding. Considering this, GLBIMR solicits proposals in response to this Announcement of Launch of Research Lab on Crowd funding.

GLBIMR believes in the strength of alumni network and values their contribution towards institution building. In adherence with this philosophy, the institute organized Alumni Talk Series on “Summer Internship to Pre Placement Offer” on April 6, 2019. This initiative was taken under the guidance of Mr. Pankaj Agarwal, Vice Chairman, GL Bajaj Educational Institutions and Dr. Urvashi Makkar, Director General, GLBIMR with the objective of developing strong industry connect through alumni.

The experience sharing session was undertaken by Mr. Rohit Gandotra, Senior Manager – US Sales and Marketing, 10 Times Pvt. Ltd., Mr. Himanshu Verma, Assistant Manager, KPMG, Ms. Varsha Menon, Business Analyst, Mindflow Partners, Ms. Anjali Jha , Senior Executive- Client Relation, Info Edge : Jeevansathi.com

, Mr. Apoorv Rana, Administrative Executive, Raphe Mphibr, Mr. Divyanshu Porwal , Business Development Executive, Flipkart, and Mr. Asif Alim, Manager- Equity Trading, Saxo Bank. They shared their own success stories along with giving positive input to students for performing well in their internship. They highlighted the importance of being proactive, inquisitive and initiative taking ability to convert Internship into a placement offer The whole session was very interactive as well as informative that provided students with much needed inputs for success.

The main objectives of this Workshop are to apprise the students with the practical aspect of recruitment and selection and also to help them understand the role of competency mapping in the selection process within the organization.

GLBIMR students participated in CIS Visit to the Management Conclave “MSME : Prospects and Challenges” at Delhi Technical Campus, Greater Noida on March 15, 2019

In line with the continuous efforts to provide new learning platforms to students, guided by the educational leadership of Mr. Pankaj Agarwal, Vice Chairman, GL Bajaj Educational Institutions and Dr. Urvashi Makkar, Director General, 12 Students from GLBIMR participated in Management Conclave on the theme “MSME : Prospects and Challenges” at Delhi Technical campus, Greater Noida on March 15, 2019.

The students gained immense knowledge of the following areas:

1. Financing of MSMEs
2. Building Marketing Competitiveness of MSMEs
3. Enhancing Global Competitiveness through MSMEs
4. Development of MSMEs through Technology, Skill and Innovation
5. Legal Issues Relating to MSMEs
6. IPR Issues Relating to MSMEs
7. Recent Initiatives by Government of India to strengthen MSMEs

The objective of the conclave was to promote entrepreneurial mindset in the present-day youth so that they become “Job Providers rather than Job Seekers”, the mission undertaken by the present government under the leadership of our dynamic Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. The session witnessed inspirational speeches by Justice Bhawar Singh, Director General of Delhi Technical Campus where he welcomed the Chief Guest- Mr. Rajnish Goenka-Chairman MSME Development Forum and Guest of Honour- Mr. Sanjay Phugalia- President & Editorial Director, Quintillion Media, Dr. Markandey Rai Senior Advisor, UN Human Settlements Program (UN-Habitat), & Keynote speaker Dr. Raj Agrawal Director Centre for Management Education, All India Management Association (AIMA) and Mr. Vijay Kumar Director MSMEDevelopment Institute. In his speech, Chief Guest- Mr. Rajnish Goenka-Chairman, MSME Development Forum motivated the students to take up entrepreneurship at early age with 3C’s- Courage, Conviction and Confidence. He shared his own success story of becoming successful entrepreneur which was appreciated hugely by audience.

Participation in the Management Conclave helped students in understanding the MSME sector and government initiatives to support new ventures in India. The speakers also highlighted various success stories in MSME sector and students appreciated the learning they gained from the experiences.

Summer Internship Program (SIP ) Workshop & Alumni Talk Series

PGDM Batch 2018-20 are hereby informed that Summer Internship Program(SIP) Workshop & Alumni Talk Series on “Summer Internship to Pre Placement Offer” are being organized on Saturday, April 6, 2019.

Objectives of Summer Internship Program (SIP ) Workshop:

i) This session will orient the students towards, how to make a strong impact during their Summer Internship utilizing their Management Skills.

ii) This session will also provide the overview about SIP including guidelines, research methodology, SIP report, SIP Faculty mentors along with time lines and formats to be followed during SIP.

iii) The session is one internal component of SIP evaluation and carries 10 marks. Hence, absence in this session will lead to deduction of 10 marks from SIP evaluation.

Objectives of Alumni Talk Series on “Summer Internship to Pre Placement Offer”

This session will have experience sharing from GLBIMR’s alumni. Students will have opportunity to learn from alumni’s real corporate life experience and past SIP experiences. This session will help the students in understanding:

i) Role of Summer Internship in the final placement.

ii) Challenges they will face during Internship and how it should be handled.

iii) Impact of Summer Internship on Career.

GLBIMR students participated in AAJ TAK ” National Security Summit” on March 12, 2019

In continuation to the initiatives under Corporate Interface series, GLBIMR students, under the futuristic leadership of Mr. Pankaj Agarwal, Vice Chairman, GL Bajaj Educational Institutions and Dr. Urvashi Makkar, Director General, GLBIMR Participated in AAJ TAK ” National Security Summit” on March 12, 2019.
The India Today Group organised Suraksha Sabha (National Security Summit) where heavyweights from the government spoke on the security situation in the country. The Aaj Tak Suraksha Sabha focused on India-Pakistan tensions which are high following the Indian Air Force airstrike on Balakot in Pakistan.

50 Students of PGDM Batch 2018–20 participated in the Summit at Hotel “The Oberoi” from 11:00 a.m to 9:00 pm. National Security Summit witnessed prominent Government Ministers, Defence Personnel and Eminent Personalities as key speakers including Mr. Amit Shah (President BJP ), Mr. Arun Jaitely (Minister of Finance) and Corporate Affairs, Mr. Rajnath Singh ( Minister of Home Affairs ), Ms. Nirmala Sitharaman ( Minister of Defence), Mr. Digvijay Singh ( Former Chief Minister), Former Chief of Army General Bikram Singh and Former Chief Air Marshal Anil Yashwant.

The event was a great exposure for students as it gave a view & understanding about the current security challenges after air strike, current condition & capability of security of the nation & about the Diplomatic, Economic & Military Relationships.

The event also provided them a wonderful opportunity to meet and interact with the Strong leaders, Ex- Defence Personnel & many stalwarts.The students also raised questions to experts. It was a highly engaging experience under the CIS Platform.
