To provide global exposure to the students, GL Bajaj Institute of Management & Research, Greater Noida organized, Global Talk Series on “Strategic Management” – 30 Hours Course Module” from February 09-16, 2019, by Mr. Ashish Patel, Managing Director, MorganFranklin, McLean, VA, USA under the esteemed guidance of Mr. Pankaj Agrawal, Vice Chairman, GL Bajaj Educational Institutions.
Dr. Urvashi Makkar, Director General, GLBIMR during the inaugural ceremony shared that GLBIMR has its strong impetus on reinforcing academic excellence in alignment with industry leaders and corporate practitioners and this customized Global Talk Series would definitely prove to be the transforming phase for the students. She further emphasized that Mr. Patel, who carries with himself a plethora of diversified experience in International & National Marketing Sphere, bringing a culmination of insights to the campus, making the students versed with the current trends present globally. GL Bajaj Institute of Management & Research, in association with SPIC MACAY organized a splendid cultural evening on February 9, 2019 under the esteemed guidance of Mr. Pankaj Agarwal, Vice Chairman, GL Bajaj Educational institutions and in the dignified presence of Smt. Mahua Shankar, an internationally acclaimed Kathak Danseuse; Mr. Ashish Patel, Managing Director, MorganFranklin Consulting, McLean, VA, USA and Dr. Urvashi Makkar, Director General, GL Bajaj Institute of Management & Research with a motive to enrich the quality of formal education by increasing awareness about different aspects of Indian heritage and inspiring the young minds to imbibe the values embedded in it.
Dr. Urvashi Makkar, Director General, GLBIMR, along with the artists from SPIC MACAY inaugurated the grand event with evoking Goddess Saraswati. Smt. Mahua Shankar, disciple of Padma Vibhushan Pandit Birju Maharaj, from Lucknow Gharana, was the lead performer of the event, accompanied with leading Tabla artist, Pt. Mithilesh Kumar Jha, Eminent Vocalist & Harmonium player Janaab Shuheb Hasan, Sarangi player, Ustad Murad Ali Khan and Padhant artist, Ms. Nupur Shankar. Dr Makkar in her inaugural remarks emphasized that, Indian Classical Dance & Music is one of the most expressive forms of art, and it is imperative for the students to experience the rich Indian Cultural Heritage.
Smt. Mahua Shankar, one of India’s foremost exponents of the Lucknow Gharana , trained under the legendary Padma Vibhushan Pandit Birju Maharaj, is an extraordinary young dancer, adding subtle innovations to the Kathak repertoire while preserving the tenets of the classical style. A mesmerizing performance including various forms of Kathak, by Smt Mahua Shankar, left the audience awe struck & spell bounded. More than 300 people including, several eminent personalities from Administration, Academia, Corporate, Politics and Media graced the enthralling event with their presence.
GLBIMR presented a gala amalgamation of culture and dance that was rejoiced by every soul present there. It was indeed a jubilating evening.

Ms. Mahua Shankar is classical Kathak danseuse and a performing artist for over a decade, is an extraordinary young dancer, adding subtle innovations to the Kathak repertoire while preserving the tenets of the classical style. Ms. Mahua, with her enchanting stage presence, has earned acclamation for her intense, sensitive & graceful Kathak presentations.

GLBIMR Students Participated in “Youth Unconference-Discovering The Entrepreneurial Competencies”
In continuation to the Corporate Interface Series, GLBIMR students under the motivational guidance of Dr. Urvashi Makkar, Director General, GL Bajaj Educational institutions, participated in “Youth Unconference-Discovering The Entrepreneurial Competencies” organized by FMRT (Foundation for Management Research and Training) in Hotel Park Plaza, Fridabad, on Sunday, February 3, 2019 from 9:00a.m. to 12:00 Noon.
5 Students of PGDM Batch 2018–20 participated in “Youth Unconference – Discovering The Entrepreneurial Competencies”. Eminent dignitaries like Mr. Abhay Kumar Singh -Senior Assistant Director (FICCI) , Mr. Divyanu Gupta – Founder and Managing Director (Housepital, A home healthcare comapny), Ms. Preety Tyagi – Health Coach, Founder & CEO (My22BMI), Ms. Anoopsha – CEO Banavat (Indian Handloom), Mr. Mukund – Founder of Straight Device, Mr. Prabhakar Tiwari – Consultant (Startup India) and Mr. Ashok -CEO Vinamara were present in the session. The welcome address was delivered by Dr. Jyoti Rana, Founder FMRT. The experts highlighted the importance of developing entrepreneurial skills and discussed the strategies like how to build a successful enterprise. They also highlighted the role of networking in today’s scenario and how it’s going to help entrepreneurs. Mr. Abhay Kumar Singh emphasized upon the role of technology in setting up an enterprise.
The event was a great exposure for students as it enlightened them on ‘How to start an enterprise?’, ‘What are the key competencies required by an entrepreneur and ‘How they can use technology to keep pace with the changing business environment?’ The event also provided them a wonderful opportunity to meet and interact with entrepreneurs of eminence from various sector. The students also raised questions to experts. It was a very engaging experience under the CIS Platform. All participants were felicitated with Certificate of Participation by Dr. Jyoti Rana Founder FMRT.
In continuation to the Corporate Interface Series, GLBIMR students under the visionary leadership of Mr. Pankaj Agarwal, Vice Chairman, GL Bajaj Educational institutions, got the opportunity to participate in “PARIKSHAPE CHARCHA 2.0”, an interactive session of students, parents and teachers with Honorable PM Shri Narendra Modi on January 29, 2019 at Talkatora Stadium, New Delhi. 20 Students of PGDM Batch 2018–20 were selected after qualifying a contest for participation in “PARIKSHA PE CHARCHA2.0”.
GLBIMR students are consistently being aspired for such opportunities and participations under the inspiring direction of Dr. Urvashi Makkar, Director General, GLBIMR. 1000 students across the country participated in the event. The session covered issues like how to beat exam stress. The session also provided a platform to parents and teachers to share their experiences. While interacting with the students, teachers and parents Honorable PM shared that the education system has become rank bound and rather than running behind the ranks, we should teach the students to learn from things around them.
The event was a life time opportunity for all 20 students as it enlightened them with the issue of how to reduce stress during exam and ways to resolve it. The event also provided them a wonderful opportunity to meet and interact with other students from different institutes and share their experiences. It was a very engaging experience under the CIS Platform.
