GLBIMR Students at ICPI Session by DMA

Under the ongoing Corporate Interface Series (CIS), GLBIMR Students of PGDM Batch 2016–18 participated in Special Interactive Session on ICPI T20, organized by Delhi Management Association (DMA), on November 21, 2017 at DMA Conference Hall, India Habitat Centre, New Delhi.
The session was based on an innovative design by International Consulting Professionals’ Institute (ICPI). The theme of the event was Dynamics of Coaching in Emerging Competitive Business Environment. The expert speakers included: Mr. Ajay Sahoo – Founder Director, Influence Resource Humane Solutions LLP & Ms. Gitanjali Saksena, Director Sage Global HR.
The event helped our budding managers explore their creativity, boost their productivity and hone their communication skills with insights and T20 sessions on Coaching & Corporate Training. CIS series is one of the many innovative programs, initiated by the the Institute to enhance Corporate readiness of the students.

GLBIMR’s Senior Professor Conferred with “Best Research Supervisor Award-2017”

It gives us immense pleasure to share that, (Dr.) Brijendra Singh Yadav, Professor, GLBIMR, was conferred with “The Best Research Supervisor Award- 2017” during the “SMART SUMMIT – 2017”; the National Conference on December 10, 2017 in Madurai, Tamil Nadu by the PEARL Foundation for Educational Excellence. Dr. Urvashi Makkar, Director General, GLBIMR, congratulated Dr. Yadav for this great achievement and adding to the glory of GLBIMR as well.

Pearl foundation every year confers such distinguished awards to the academicians and researchers in higher education Pan India on the occasion of International Noble Prize day. The Award was given to Dr. Yadav for his exemplary contribution to Research in the field of Management after a high level short listing done against the total of 236 nominations received by the jury committee. The same foundation also had conferred ‘The Best Director Award’ to Dr. Yadav in the year 2016 the same day.

Director General, GLBIMR conferred with “Women Leadership Award” on November 26 November 2017

With great pride & honor we share that Dr. Urvashi Makkar, Director General, GLBIMR, was conferred with ‘Women Leadership Award for Promotion of Responsible Management Education’, at the 1st Global Conference on Marketing Management Studies Matter (MMSM-2017) by Canara Bank School of Management Studies (CBSMS), Bangalore University in association with Regional College of Management (RCM), Bangalore on November 26 November 2017. The Conference were organized in collaboration with the United Nation Global Compact (UNGC), India.

The highly prestigious award was conferred by Prof. Ronald E. Berenbiem, Stern School of Business, New York University, in presence of Dr. K. Janardhanam, Professor & Director – CBSMS, Bangalore University and Prof Wolfgang Amann, Conference Co-Chair, during the Valedictory Session of MMSM-2017 The award was conferred to Dr. Makkar for her extra ordinary contributions in the field of higher education, employability & skill enhancement. GLBIMR is proud to be led by such visionary leader.

WISDOMITES Club Activity, “1st Sustainability Quiz Competition” on November 20, 2017

WISDOMITES Club organized, “1st Sustainability Quiz Competition” on November 20, 2017, under the visionary guidance of Dr. Urvashi Makkar, Director General, GLBIMR. This competition was organized to evaluate the best team of GLBIMR on sustainability knowledge respect. The event was led by the faculty coordinator, Dr. Chandan Medatwal.

The “GLBIMR- 1st SUSTAINABILITY QUIZ COMPETITION” Winners were as follows :
1st Prize – Supriya Upadhdhya and Surbhi Bansal,

1st Runners up- Shubham Tiwari and Vipin Singh

2nd Runners up – Naveen and Mohini.

Apart from winners two more teams were applauded for their outstanding performance viz- Satyendra Kumar/Shakakha Dalania and Rahul Rout /Ravikant Tiwari.

The event was concluded with the “Prize Distribution Ceremony” by Dr. Urvashi Makkar, Director General, who congratulated the winners and motivated the participants with her inspirational address.

Under the visionary guidance of Dr. Urvashi Makkar, Director General, GLBIMR; a Panel Discussion on “Opportunities in Stock Market” was organized on December 04, 2017 for PGDM Batch 2016-18 & 2017-19. The distinguished panelists were Mr. Pulock Bhattacharji, Vice President, BSE Limited and Mr. Rajeev Garg, Head, Business Operations, BSE Limited. Dr. Makkar warmly welcomed the guests speakers and shared the importance of such insightful sessions, she emphasized that, insightful financial professionals will drive innovation, growth, and value in today’s dynamic world economy, therefore it is much relevant for the students to acquire the knowledge and skills needed.

Mr. Pulock shared that, India has a diversified financial sector, which is undergoing rapid expansion. The sector comprises commercial banks, insurance companies, non-banking financial companies, co-operatives, pension funds, mutual funds and other smaller financial entities. Mr. Rajeev shared that the current market is very volatile and it’s very important to have an edge over others in order to survive. Both the eminent panelists shared their views on growing opportunities in Stock Market. The session was interactive & students asked relevant queries, which were duly answered by the expert panelists.

Director General of GLBIMR invited as Guest of Honor at the International Programme by NIESBUD on December 01, 2017

We feel proud to share that Dr. Urvashi Makkar, Director General, GLBIMR, was invited as Guest of Honour during the Valedictory Session of International Programme on Small Business Planning and Promotion (SBPP) & Trainers Training on Self Help Group Formation Growth and Sustenance (TT-SHGFGS) on December 01, 2017, where she shared her views on the significance of Entrepreneurial culture to be developed in B-Schools for the contributions towards nation building through job creation & not by becoming job seekers.

More than 36 participants from 14 countries like Peru, Russia, Sri Lanka, South Africa, Ethopia, Uganda, Uzbekistan , Zimbabwe etc participated. The Chief Guest of the event was Dr. C.B. Sharma, Chairman, NIOS, while Dr. Rishi Raj Singh, Director & Training Officer, NIESBUD was the Programme Director, who also talked about the situation of small business & their contribution to the GDP of our country. This International Programme brought together the most innovative and influential leaders from industry, government, policy makers, training institutions, NGOs, and education with the opportunity to exchange information and best practices of Entrepreneurship.

With much pride and honor, we share that, Dr. Urvashi Makkar, Director General; GLBIMR was invited as an eminent panelist at “HR Townhall-2017” organized by People and Management HR Magazine on 21st November at Metropolitan Hotel, Connaught Place, New Delhi. Along with Dr. Makkar , Mr. Ketan Kapoor , CEO & Co-founder- Mettl, Mr. Vivek Gupta , CEO –Storecheq and Mr. Deepak Bharara, CHRO, Lanco Infratech Limited were also invited as panelist for the event.

Dr. Urvashi Makkar, during the session discussed about Employability & Skills for India, Creating a High Performance Culture, Enriching HR Processes – Recruitment, Development, Retention, Creating Happiness at the Workplace and The Succession Conundrum: Building Leadership Pipeline.

The event was planned for a 5- hour duration of interactive exchange between a diverse HR audience of more than 150 HR professionals and 15 expert panelists in 3 Sessions.
