GLBIMR Students Participated in Business Quiz under FMS-AUUP at AMITY UNIVERSITY, NOIDA on March 10,2018

Curiosity is a great key in innovation and in our journey to foster innovation in GL Bajaj Institute of Management & Research, the inquisitive lot of PGDM Batch 2017-19 students participated in the Business Quiz under FMS-AUUP at AMITY UNIVERSITY, NOIDA on March 10, 2018, under the guidance of Dr. Urvashi Makkar, Director General, GLBIMR . It was an interesting afternoon of intense quizzing interlaced with an entertaining set of questions where curious young minds from GLBIMR battled it out for claiming the honours. The Business quiz competition was designed as an innovative, interactive session to facilitate a copious flow of knowledge and ideas packaged in exciting rounds. Questions related to current business trends in branding & Advertising and financial terminologies were asked from the students.

Learning through management quizzing is fun and goes beyond the traditional bounds of management training. Thirty Five Teams from Amity University and Delhi Technical University as well as corporate representations from organizations of repute like Deloitte, NTPC, Hero Motocorp, Indian Oil Corporation, and PNB were part of the Business Quiz.

Our students Naveen Pratap Singh, Mohit Sudhanshu, and Shikar Garg were the winners of Audience Round. All the participating students received accolades for their participation.

GLBIMR organized the Live Telecast of the Prime Minister address to the students of all educational Institutions in India, on Friday, February 16, 2018. All Students, Faculty & Staff members witnessed the live streaming of Hon’ble Shri Narender Modi Ji’s address.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi , addressed students’ examination-related concerns in person on February 16 at Talkatora Stadium, where school students from across the country were present. In this “Pareeksha Pe Charcha” PM, told the students how to give stress-free examination. GLBIMR Students also got great mentoring & guidance through this Live Streaming.

A formal Book Launch Ceremony of GLBIMR’s Book, “Achieving Sustainable Strategic Advantage” was organized on February 14, 2018.

The book launch was done by eminent Chief Guest, Dr.R.K Khandal, President R&D and Business Development India Glycols Limited, Noida, Former VC, UPTU, Guest of Honor, Mr. Ashish Patel, Managing Director, MorganFranklin, Consulting USA, Mr. Pankaj Agarwal, Vice Chairman, GL Bajaj Educational Institutions, Dr. Urvashi Makkar, Director General, GLBIMR, along with the editorial team of the book.
The Book, which is a compilation of handpicked research papers presented in the 2nd International Conference on “Achieving Sustainable Strategic Advantage” (ICASSA-2k17)” organized by GL Bajaj Institute of Management and Research, Greater Noida, on September 9, 2017, is edited by a team of 4 members led by Dr. Makkar.

Mr. Pankaj Agarwal, extended warm welcome to Mr. Khandal & congratulated the Editoril team of the Book, he further highlighted the importance of not only reading but writing as well. He motivated the faculty members to articulate their thoughts in form of research papers & books. Dr. Urvashi Makkar also warmly welcomed the guests, and quoted that “Good Leaders must be good Readers”, If you are a leader, you should be striving to develop knowledge to improve yourself, your organization, and the people who work for you.
Dr. R.K. Khandal Congratulated GLBIMR for the launch of the book & successful organization of Global Talk Series. Dr. Khandal talked about the urgency of improving the quality of education in our country today. He further added that, reading can never ever be compensated with any other mode of learning. This book will surely add value to the learning quotient of all the readers. He enlightened the audience with his powerful thoughts about Sustainability of Ancient Indian Education system & current scenario of education in the country. His knowledge of religion, education, economic, socio-political topics etc enthralled one & all.

Concurrently on the same day, GLBIMR concluded the Global Talk Series on Strategic Management, from February 05-14, 2018, with a Valedictory Session, where 12 students: Ankit Kumar Mishra, Aman Kumar Verma, Divita Agarwal, Ishan Mudghal, Bhavya Prabhakar, Kritima Tripathi, Ranu Singh, Seema Priya, Rahul Rout, Shruti Srivastava, Yash Raj Singh and Shivani Singh received Best Assignment Award on Strategic Management on the topic- “Relevance of Strategic Management in today’s Competitive Era , for which they received Certificates of appreciation during the Session.

GLBIMR Students participated in “Markathon 2018”, Delhi on February 02, 2018

In continuation to the Corporate Interface Series, GLBIMR students under the visionary leadership of Dr. Urvashi Makkar, Director General, GLBIMR, the students got the opportunity to participate in the Inter College Marketing Event –“ Markathon 2018” at JIMS, Kalakaji New Delhi on February 02, 2018.

GLBIMR students enthusiastically participated with full vigor in different competitive activities, like Case Study Competition, IPL Auction Ad Mad Show, Kabadi Bazaar, Management Ludo and Ad Guru. Our Students showcased their talent, entrepreneurial skills, creativity and gave tough competition to other Institutes, with positive sportsmanship spirit.

The Case Study Competition, and Management Ludo triggered the competitive and decision making abilities of students and our students reached to the final round. It was a remarkable fun filled & learning experience for all the students.

A soulful harmony of Classical Dance & Music at GL Bajaj Institute of Management & Research by SPIC MACAY
A spectacular cultural evening was organized at the leading management institute, GL Bajaj Institute of Management & Research, in association with SPIC MACAY (Society for the Promotion of Indian Classical Music and Culture Amongst Youth) on February 6, 2018. Dr Urvashi Makkar, Director General, GLBIMR, along with the artists’ from SPIC MACAY inaugurated the grand event with evoking Goddess Saraswati. Smt. Malti Shyam, a legendary Kathak Artist from Lucknow Gharana, was the lead performer of the event, accompanied with leading Tabla artist, Shri Suraj Nirwan, Shri Santosh Sinha, Eminent Vocalist & Harmonium player and Ms. Yamika Mahesh. Dr Makkar in her inaugural remarks emphasized that, Indian Classical Dance & Music is one of the most expressive forms of art, and it is imperative for the students to experience the rich Indian Cultural Heritage, she further shared that SPIC MACAY is a revolution of Indian classical performing arts, intended to enrich the quality of formal education by increasing awareness about different aspects of Indian heritage and inspiring the young mind to imbibe the values embedded in it.

A mesmerizing performance of various forms of Kathak, by Smt Malti Shyam , left the audience awe struck & spell bounded. Malti Shyam went from strength to strength. “kanhaa kaahe chede bansuriya” making even Brijbhoomi glow, was evoked through elegantly tailored dance, with all kathak ingredients incorporated. In the ultimate abstraction of Krishna consciousness manifesting in the blue clouds, the rain, the call of the flute, the dance surpassed in masterly, involved presentation. It was a perfect blend of harmony depicting a beautiful conversation between mind, body & soul. Suraj Nirwan, Tabla artist charmed everyone with his captivative perfection on the instrument, his “rela” performance, truly recreated the sound of moving train in the auditorium. Soulful melody of Santosh Kumar Sinha & Yamika Mahesh, enthralled everyone, bursting the audience in multiple rounds of applauds for the artists.

More than 300 people including, several eminent personalities from Administration, Academia, Corporate, Politics and Media graced the spectacular event with their presence. GLBIMR concluded the day with a promise of organizing more such events.

GLBIMR Students won the Declamation Contest

With great pleasure, we share that our students Vaibhav Saxena and Preeti Choudhary of PGDM Batch 2017-19 have won First Prize in the Declamation contest held at Sri Aurobindo Society, Noida on January 20, 2018.

The topic of his declamation was’ Role of Sri Aurobindo in Indian Freedom Movement’. Students from several Institutes and universities participated in the contest. Our Students have won the Institutional Rolling Trophy of Year 2018 for GLBIMR; they have also been conferred with an Individual Trophy and Certificates.

Technovation Club organized “TECH-ACT”- Exploring the real world Scenario with the blend of Technology

Technovation Club of GLBIMR organized “TECH-ACT”- Exploring the real World Scenario with the blend of Technology on December 21, 2017 , which was huge success. Students presented precise acts through their skills and talent to showcase the real world scenario with the blend of technology.

The event, which witnessed great zeal & enthusiasm from the students, was judged Dr Anand Rai and Dr. Brijendra Yadav.

Dr. Urvashi Makkar, Director General, GLBIMR, conferred the certificates to the winning teams and shared her inspiring views with the students. She motivated the students to come out of their cocoon & explore more.
