Director General at the National Conference on Globalization & Sustainable Growth of Business (NCGSGB 2K17)
Learning and disseminating the knowledge are two sides of the same coin. We will stop learning if we stop sharing the knowledge. It is a matter of pride for us to share that Dr. Urvashi Makkar, Director General, GLBIMR graced the “National Conference On Globalization & Sustainable Growth of Business at D.A.V Centenary College, Faridabad on February 18, 2017. Dr Makkar presided the Valedictory Session of the conference along with Dr. Satish Ahuja, Principal, D.A.V Centenary College who was the Conference Director and Dr. Jyoti Rana, H.O.D PG commerce & Marketing, D.A.V Centenary College as the conference chair.
Dr. Urvashi Makkar while sharing her valuable inputs about the conference in the valedictory session gave an impeccable session regarding the subject matter. She enthralled the participants & audience with the facts and figures along with the detailed theory. The other eminent speakers of the session were Prof. Raj Kumar Mittal, Director-Development, Dean, University School of Management Studies, GGSIU, Prof. N.P Singh, MDI, Gurgaon and Dr. Ravi. K. GLBIMR under the leadership of Dr. Urvashi Makkar, Director General participated as knowledge partner in Doordarshan’s debate show, “Open Court” at The Constitutional Club of India on Feb 19, 2017. The evening was colored in the vibrant shades of Cultural Diversity and Intellects.
The eminent panelists included Academicians, Cinema Artists, Political Leaders, Bureaucrats, Senior Lawyers, Social Workers and renowned Media Patrons. The event witnessed presence of many eminent personalities like Shri Prabhat Jha, MP, Rajya Sabha for Madhya Pradesh, Mr. Rashid Alvi, Ex-spokesperson, Congress, Mr. Abhinav Kashyap, renowned Film Director (Dabang fame), Mr. Narendra Jha, Actor (Kaabil, Raees, Mohan-Jo-Daro and Ghayal returns fame), Dr. Urvashi Makkar, Director General, GLBIMR, Mr. Jaskaran Singh, Adv. Supreme Court, Mrs Anu Sinha, renowned Kathak Exponent, Mrs. Pankaj Mittal, Additional Secretary, UGC, Mrs Rekha Aggarwal, Sr. Advocate, Supreme Court and many more eminent personalities.
GLBIMR students participated as volunteers and organizing team members and handled the overall execution of stage, dais, hospitality and registration counter. The show was aired live on Sadhna plus channel & subsequently it will be aired by Doordarshan in 4 episodes.

Focused on developing future ready Professionals, GLBIMR organized a special live streaming of Union Budget 2017-18 on 1st of February, 2017 at Greater Noida campus, under the guidance of Dr. Urvashi Makkar, Director General, GLBIMR.
Union Budget 2017-18, presented by Honorable Finance Minister Mr. Arun Jaitley, was broadly focused on 10 themes — the farming sector, the rural population, the youth, the poor and underprivileged health care, infrastructure, the financial sector for stronger institutions, speedy accountability, public services, prudent fiscal management and tax administration for the honest.
Through this session students, got an opportunity to understand different segments of the economy and to exchange views on the Union Budget, its relevance and impact on business environment and economic growth. The Live streaming of Union Budget 2017-18 was greatly appreciated by students.

Dr. Makkar was joined by senior business leaders like Mr.Vijay Rai, MA-APAC & EMEA Markets, savior Inc, Mr. Sanjay Verma, Group CHRO & Global HR Head, Uniparts India and Mr. Rajan Dutta, MD, Xstrops Consulting as co panelists. Digitization is no doubt the only way to go, but as Dr Makkar shared that organizations should also keep their focus on customer satisfaction as well. She related the scenario with Education Industry and how GLBIMR is highly focused on the overall development of its students using innovative pedagogy making them future ready and competitive. India is on a cusp of transformation into the digital era and Management Institutes need to reflect those changes in Education system to make sure that our future leaders do not lagger behind.

Maintaining a proper work life balance is one of the keystones to happiness and GLBIMR believes that in order to be a successful professional, it is very important for the students to learn maintaining a balance between academic schedule and personal life. The PGDM Batch 2016-18 is gearing up for their first ever corporate exposure through SIP programme, so to ease out the stress of students and to prepare them for the upcoming challenges, GLBIMR under the dynamic leadership of its visionary Director General, Dr. Urvashi Makkar, organized a unique Expert Talk Series on “Stress Management for Becoming Successful Corporate Professional” on February 07, 2017, where Mr. V.K Bansal, a renowned motivational trainer was the resource person.
Dr. Makkar welcomed Mr.Bansal and shared that this session will help the students in learning new ways to manage stress at work place which will contribute not only in increasing their productivity but also living a happy life throughout. Mr. V. K Bansal charmed the audience with his immense knowledge about success and happiness in life and how these two are interrelated to each other. He shared various anger management and stress management techniques with the students.
The session was designed to build self-awareness, resilience and to empower individuals to recognize workplace stress and tackle stress-related challenges at work through effective strategies. This session gave insights of the pressure at work place and how it can be dealt by maintaining proper balance. We are sure that the session released the stress levels of students leaving them more energized & charged up for the upcoming academic commitments.
