Glimpses of Day 2 of AIMA’s NATIONAL MANAGEMENT CONVENTION

PGDM Batch 2017-19 students participated in AIMA’s Diamond Jubilee Convention on September 27 & 28, 2017 at Hotel Le Meridian, New Delhi. This initiative is a part of the ongoing Corporate Interface Series, for PGDM students at GLBIMR.

On day 2, the convention was focused on sub themes, like Disruptive HR & Digital India, under the main agenda of “Folding the Future In: Reimagining India”, and was addressed by eminent speakers, like Mr. Ravi Shankar Prasad, Minister of Law and Justice; Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India , Mr. Sunil Kant Munjal, Chairman, The Hero Enterprise, President, AIMA, Mr. Kiran Menon, Co-Founder & CEO, Tydy, Mr. Rishabh Kaul, Co-Founder and Head of Demand Marketing, Belong, Mr. T V Mohandas Pai, Chairman, Manipal Global Education Services, Lord Karan Bilimoria CBE DL, Chairman, Cobra Beer Partnership, Mr. Chris Parsons, Chairman, India Practice, Herbert Smith Freehills LLP and more.
GLBIMR students interacted with distinguished guests, panelists and participants. Discussions pertaining to current relevant challenges were discussed, like :

• How can Indian startups go from adapting successful technologies and business models to innovating for the world?

• What must India do to attract global investment in designing and making of industrial and consumer gadgets?

• How can a digital India be secured against disruption by crime and war?

The percipient sessions by eminent guests and participants gave insightful learning to the students.

Mr. Vittal has over 23 years of experience. He has led the HR department at Reliance Communications, and worked as Senior Director, HR, at Flipkart where he managed compensation benefits, performance management, and organization design.

We feel highly elated in sharing that, one of our students, Ishan Mudhgal of PGDM Batch 2017-19, has received a Scholarship Grant of Rs 2 Lakhs (Rs. 1 Lakh each year), from Capital First Ltd, under the ongoing Scholarship Program, as part of CSR initiative, for which GLBIMR has tied up with Capital First Ltd.Ishan has been selected by the jury of Capital First, based on the guidelines of this Scholarship program.
We congratulate Ishan Mudhgal and wish him success.
Earlier, two more students of PGDM Batch 2017-19, Hira Ovais & Shrishti Singh, have received this elite scholarship from Capital First. GLBIMR is hopeful, that more students will get the scholarship in the coming days, and get benefited by the great initiative.

2nd International Conference, (ICASSA2k17) at GLBIMR

Delegates from across the Globe attended the 2nd International Conference, (ICASSA2k17) at GLBIMR

Under the insightful guidance of Mr. Pankaj Agrawal, Vice Chairman, GL Bajaj Educational Institutions and cultivated acumen of Dr. Urvashi Makkar, Director General, GLBIMR ; The 2nd International Conference on “Achieving Sustainable Strategic Advantage” (ICASSA-2k17), on Saturday, September 09, 2017 at its Greater Noida campus, where around 400 International & National delegates participated. The mega event was inaugurated by Mr. Pankaj Agrawal, Vice Chairman, GL Bajaj Institutions, Dr. Urvashi Makkar, Director General, GLBIMR along with His Excellency, Alem Tsehaye Woldemariam, Ambassador, Embassy of the State of Eritrea, Mr. Ashish Patel, Managing Director, Morgan Franklin Consulting, USA, Mr. Dilip Raj, VP & Senior Managing Partner, Max Life Insurance Ltd, Mr. Siddharth Talwar, Master Chef, Mr. Raman Kalra, Managing Partner, PwC India, Ms. Jaya Mazumder, Chief Mentor and Corporate Stylist, Mindspace Consulting Consortium Group and Dr. Rishi Raj Singh, Director, Training (UEPA), NIESBUD.The International Delegates from more than 15 countries like USA, Germany, Egypt, Nambia, Romania, SriLanka, Kenya, UAE, Thailand, Ghana participated in the Conference.

Mr. Pankaj Agarwal, welcomed the Guests and emphasized that the demand of today’s world is novelty, creativity, and integration of knowledge at global level, research, critical and analytical thoughts and the conference would bring in constructive discussions regarding achieving sustainable strategical advantage. Dr Urvashi Makkar, in her inaugural address, very strongly highlighted the importance of continuously reinventing the business strategies, to be always ahead of the competitors and to avoid fading away. She said that, in emerging markets, growth opportunities exist and the business leaders are constantly working on finding out more innovative ways to strengthen competitive edge as well as sustain it.
The conference was endorsed by the insights of expert speakers like: His Excellency Alem Tsehaye Woldemariam who shared insightful experiences from India – Africa work culture, Mr Raman Kalra enthralled the audience with his powerful session where he discussed the importance of creating consumer loyalty and continuously renovate the strategies. The audience was left awe-struck with the story of success of MasterChef, Sidharth Talwar, who emphasized that there is no substitute to passion and hard work. Ms. Jaya Mazumder also extended her powerful session, in which she stressed on the fact that achieving sustainable advantage would become easier, if we follow our dreams. Dr. Rishi Raj Singh presented his views on being flexible and competitive at the same time and shared the importance of being furure ready & adaptive. He emphasized on the vision of Hon’ble Prime Minister of developing a skilled India. Mr. Ashish Patel enlightened the audience with his immense knowledge about current global strategies, he discussed various business environmental challenges and the ways of adapting innovative business models. Mr. Dilip Raj presented the practical orientation of using business frameworks by breaking the myths and inculcate latest maxims in business, by the concept of design thinking.

The Conference witnessed presence of renowned experts from corporate & academia and more than 100 research papers were presented in the technical sessions which brought together academicians, researchers, practitioners and research students from around the world to discuss how to achieve that balance between strategical innovations & sustainability of organizations. Conference Proceedings of ICASSA2k17 was released on this occasion, which has rich collection of 106 abstracts, from divergent set of academicians, professionals, research scholars and subject experts.

GLBIMR students are provided various platforms to learn & acquire exposure of the corporate world; Corporate Interface Series (CIS) is one of the most successful corroboration of the same, under the guidance of Dr. Urvashi Makkar, Director General, GLBIMR.
Recently, PGDM Batch 2017-19 students got an opportunity to participate in Brand Marquee, a scintillating corporate event, packed with renowned Business leaders from across the nation, organized by MBARendezvous, held on September 7, 2017, at India Islamic Cultural Center, New Delhi. The agenda topic of the event was “Brand is the theme of Entrepreneurial Manager”, where Mr. Manoj Kohli, Executive Chairman at SoftBank Energy was the chief guest and many leading business leaders like Mr. Arvind Vohra, Gionee India, Mr. Sushil Pandit, The Hive Communications, Mr. Pankaj Dubey, CEO, Eicher Polaris Pvt. Ltd, Mr. Ashish Bansal, Samsung Electronics, Mr. Manish Aggarwal, Bikanervala Foods Pvt. Ltd and many more such renowned dignitaries , were part of the elaborative panel during various sessions.

Our students not only participated, but also volunteered the whole event, and contributed in Registration, Stage Handling, Session Coordinating etc. It was a great networking platform for the students where they also asked several relevant queries, which were appreciated & addressed by the speakers.

The Journey of learning continued on second day of Digital Marketing Certification by MSME @ GLBIMR on September 12, 2017

The second day of Certification Program on “Digital Marketing” by Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise (MSME) on September 11-12, 2017 for PGDM Batch 2017-19 witnessed, equal enthusiastic participation by students.
Another batch of students learnt the concepts of creating & running an Ad Campaign, designing google Adwords, Search Engine Optimization, Email Marketing, Content Marketing, concepts of Bid, CTR, and Quality Score, budgeting, search campaigns and latest Digital Marketing Strategies as a part of the module.

The key resource person of this session was Mr. Jatin Bindal, renowned corporate trainer for digital marketing, and Mr. Abhishek Mukherjee, founder of Knowledge Talks was the guest speaker. Dr. Urvashi Makkar extended gratitude to the guest speakers and motivated the students to keep learning so that the certification program leaves constructive impact on their academic and Professional career.

PGDM students of GLBIMR got a clear insight about the concept which will help them to improve their knowledge in Digital Marketing. The resources team enlightened the students with their valuable knowledge regarding the subject matter.

Students were also awarded with the Certification after the completion of session.
