Technovation Club organized “TECH-ACT”- Exploring the real world Scenario with the blend of Technology
Technovation Club of GLBIMR organized “TECH-ACT”- Exploring the real World Scenario with the blend of Technology on December 21, 2017 , which was huge success. Students presented precise acts through their skills and talent to showcase the real world scenario with the blend of technology.
The event, which witnessed great zeal & enthusiasm from the students, was judged Dr Anand Rai and Dr. Brijendra Yadav.
Below are the Winners and Runner ups of the event:
1. Team led by Vaibhav- The Shield (Theme- Precision Farming)
2. Team led by Aggaya- Big Bang Fires (Theme- Paytm- Cash to cashless Economy)
3. Team led by Rahul Rout – Chitti – The Fire (Theme- Artificial Intelligence)
Dr. Urvashi Makkar, Director General, GLBIMR, conferred the certificates to the winning teams and shared her inspiring views with the students. She motivated the students to come out of their cocoon & explore more.

Industrial Visit by GLBIMR Students to Central Warehouse Corporation, on December 6, 2017
GLBIMR organized Industrial Visit for PGDM batch 2017-2019 to Central Warehouse Corporation (CWC), on December 6, 2017 at Surajpur, Greater Noida,
Central Warehouse Corporation is the storage and depository house of various products manufactured by different companies like Honda, LG, Whirlpool etc. CWC also offers consultancy services/ training for the construction of warehousing infrastructure to different agencies.
Dr. Brijendra Yadav, Professor, accompanied the students during the visit.
“Technovation” Club Activity “Tech-ACT” on December 21, 2017 @GLBIMR
Technovation Club of GLBIMR is organizing -“Tech-ACT”- Expressing Real world Scenario with the blend of Technology” on December 21, 2017, which relate the students with the impact of technology in the real world.
Methodological Approach to the Event:
The Approach is to explore the real world ideas with the technology into their Act. Suggestive themes for the Tech-Act would be
• Artificial Intelligence
• Use of Technology in finance, for e.g. financial inclusion
• Use of Technology in HR
• Use of Technology in Marketing
• Use of Technology in Entrepreneurship
• Use of Technology in Social Service
1. Each group member must have a role in the act. (It is acceptable to include a role of Narrator in the act.)
2. Act must not contain violence or inappropriate language or actions.
3. Use of clear voices that can be easily heard.
4. The team participating in the act should have 5 members.
5. The teams will be allowed a maximum of 5 minutes to perform.
6. The teams will be free to select the story/script of the act. However, the script will have to be discussed with the event coordinator before the event. Theme should not be vulgar & cheap. It should not hurt any community’s feelings.
7. No use of slangs and unparliamentarily language in the act.
8. The Competition will be judged on the basis of the script, facial expressions, and element of technology, stage mannerism, co-ordination, voice modulation and overall performance.
9. Final ratings shall be decided by aggregating points awarded by a panel of judges.
10. In case of any dispute, decision of the organizers of the event shall be final and conclusive.
Certificates would be given to the Winners and Runners Up.
Panel Discussion on “Opportunities in Stock Market” on December 04, 2017 @ GLBIMR
Under the visionary guidance of Dr. Urvashi Makkar, Director General, GLBIMR; a Panel Discussion on “Opportunities in Stock Market” was organized on December 04, 2017 for PGDM Batch 2016-18 & 2017-19. The distinguished panelists were Mr. Pulock Bhattacharji, Vice President, BSE Limited and Mr. Rajeev Garg, Head, Business Operations, BSE Limited. Dr. Makkar warmly welcomed the guests speakers and shared the importance of such insightful sessions, she emphasized that, insightful financial professionals will drive innovation, growth, and value in today’s dynamic world economy, therefore it is much relevant for the students to acquire the knowledge and skills needed.
Mr. Pulock shared that, India has a diversified financial sector, which is undergoing rapid expansion. The sector comprises commercial banks, insurance companies, non-banking financial companies, co-operatives, pension funds, mutual funds and other smaller financial entities. Mr. Rajeev shared that the current market is very volatile and it’s very important to have an edge over others in order to survive. Both the eminent panelists shared their views on growing opportunities in Stock Market. The session was interactive & students asked relevant queries, which were duly answered by the expert panelists.

With much pride and honor, we share that, Dr. Urvashi Makkar, Director General; GLBIMR was invited as an eminent panelist at “HR Townhall-2017” organized by People and Management HR Magazine on 21st November at Metropolitan Hotel, Connaught Place, New Delhi. Along with Dr. Makkar , Mr. Ketan Kapoor , CEO & Co-founder- Mettl, Mr. Vivek Gupta , CEO –Storecheq and Mr. Deepak Bharara, CHRO, Lanco Infratech Limited were also invited as panelist for the event.
Dr. Urvashi Makkar, during the session discussed about Employability & Skills for India, Creating a High Performance Culture, Enriching HR Processes – Recruitment, Development, Retention, Creating Happiness at the Workplace and The Succession Conundrum: Building Leadership Pipeline.
The event was planned for a 5- hour duration of interactive exchange between a diverse HR audience of more than 150 HR professionals and 15 expert panelists in 3 Sessions.

It is a pleasure to share that, Dr. Urvashi Makkar has been conferred with “Shakti Achievement Award” at the 10th National Women Excellence Award 2017, organized on November 25, 2017 at India International Center, New Delhi. The event was organized in association with North Eastern Council (NEC), Ministry of DoNER, Government of India, Indo European Chamber of Small and Medium Enterprises (IECSME) & other National and International organizations.
Smt. Krishna Raj, Honourable Union Minister of State for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare , Mr. Anuj Agrawal, Editor, Dialogue India ( Career Magazine), Smt. Laxmi Thakur Singhal, National General Secretary, YCI, Smt. Chitra Dalal, Vice President, IECSME & Dr. Kamal Taori, Former Secretary to Government of India, Chairman IECSME conferred the award to Dr. Makkar in a grand award ceremony.

GLBIMR Launched Orientation on “Student Entrepreneurship Program” by National Entrepreneurship Network on November 15, 2017 at its Greater Noida campus
We are pleased to share that GLBIMR has signed MOU with the WF Global Network as a host incubation institute for National Entrepreneurship Network (NEN) on November 15, 2017 at its Greater Noida campus.
The Orientation Program was organized under the visionary guidance of Dr. Urvashi Makkar, Director General, GLBIMR. The resource person of this program was Dr. Shruti Sinha, Regional Manager, WF Global Foundation.
Dr. Makkar shared that the Student Entrepreneurship Module of NEN will open doors to infinite opportunities for the budding managers in a business environment which requires agile leaders with entrepreneurial spirit. Dr. Shruti Sinha explained the students the benefits of Learnwise program, procedural steps to register for the course and what resources can be extracted from the course. NEN would be conducting the course in 4 modules – WF 100, WF – 101, WF – 102, WF – 103. Students from the Post Graduate Management program were encouraged to join the course which intends to impart innovation and skill-development to empower our students to emerge as successful business leaders.
It was indeed a great learning and igniting session. GLBIMR looks forward to delivering quality training to aspiring entrepreneurs through this course.
