GLBIMR students participated in CIS Visit to the Management Conclave “MSME : Prospects and Challenges” at Delhi Technical Campus, Greater Noida on March 15, 2019

In line with the continuous efforts to provide new learning platforms to students, guided by the educational leadership of Mr. Pankaj Agarwal, Vice Chairman, GL Bajaj Educational Institutions and Dr. Urvashi Makkar, Director General, 12 Students from GLBIMR participated in Management Conclave on the theme “MSME : Prospects and Challenges” at Delhi Technical campus, Greater Noida on March 15, 2019.

The students gained immense knowledge of the following areas:

1. Financing of MSMEs
2. Building Marketing Competitiveness of MSMEs
3. Enhancing Global Competitiveness through MSMEs
4. Development of MSMEs through Technology, Skill and Innovation
5. Legal Issues Relating to MSMEs
6. IPR Issues Relating to MSMEs
7. Recent Initiatives by Government of India to strengthen MSMEs

The objective of the conclave was to promote entrepreneurial mindset in the present-day youth so that they become “Job Providers rather than Job Seekers”, the mission undertaken by the present government under the leadership of our dynamic Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. The session witnessed inspirational speeches by Justice Bhawar Singh, Director General of Delhi Technical Campus where he welcomed the Chief Guest- Mr. Rajnish Goenka-Chairman MSME Development Forum and Guest of Honour- Mr. Sanjay Phugalia- President & Editorial Director, Quintillion Media, Dr. Markandey Rai Senior Advisor, UN Human Settlements Program (UN-Habitat), & Keynote speaker Dr. Raj Agrawal Director Centre for Management Education, All India Management Association (AIMA) and Mr. Vijay Kumar Director MSMEDevelopment Institute. In his speech, Chief Guest- Mr. Rajnish Goenka-Chairman, MSME Development Forum motivated the students to take up entrepreneurship at early age with 3C’s- Courage, Conviction and Confidence. He shared his own success story of becoming successful entrepreneur which was appreciated hugely by audience.

Participation in the Management Conclave helped students in understanding the MSME sector and government initiatives to support new ventures in India. The speakers also highlighted various success stories in MSME sector and students appreciated the learning they gained from the experiences.

As part of Global Talk Series, GLBIMR organized Symposium on “Creating Value with Values in Organizations” under the guidance of Mr. Pankaj Agarwal, Vice Chairman, GL Bajaj Educational Institutions and Dr. Urvashi Makkar, Director General, GLBIMR by Dr. Ernst von Kimakowitz, Lecturer in Leadership Skills at the University of St. Gallen, Switzerland , Director and co-founder of the Humanistic Management Center, Switzerland on March 30, 2019.The session was graced by Mr. Pankaj Belwariar, Associate Vice President National Marketing, Prabhat Khabar as Guest of Honour and Mr. Rakesh Sinha, Senior Manager, Prabhat Khabar as distinguished guest.

The welcome address was delivered by Dr. Urvashi Makkar where she shared that the objective of global talk series is to provide unique learning international exposure to students so that they can acquire a competitive edge to learn from globally renowned academicians of repute. She emphasized that the theme of the talk series was very critical for personal and professional success that is value based development. Resonating with her suggestions, Dr. Ernst von Kimakowitz shared detailed understanding of how Value Creation is the Foundation for any Business Sustainability and how values help in Improving Organizational Performance. He holds a M.Sc. from the London School of Economics (LSE), London, UK and has also studied at the Johannes Gutenberg University of Mainz, in Mainz, Germany and the Universidad de los Andes, Merida, Venezuela.

It was a highly stimulating and interactive session where many doubts and queries of the students were cleared. The session was very fruitful in building the importance of values among students that they could personify in their future jobs.

GLBIMR students participated in AAJ TAK ” National Security Summit” on March 12, 2019

In continuation to the initiatives under Corporate Interface series, GLBIMR students, under the futuristic leadership of Mr. Pankaj Agarwal, Vice Chairman, GL Bajaj Educational Institutions and Dr. Urvashi Makkar, Director General, GLBIMR Participated in AAJ TAK ” National Security Summit” on March 12, 2019.
The India Today Group organised Suraksha Sabha (National Security Summit) where heavyweights from the government spoke on the security situation in the country. The Aaj Tak Suraksha Sabha focused on India-Pakistan tensions which are high following the Indian Air Force airstrike on Balakot in Pakistan.

50 Students of PGDM Batch 2018–20 participated in the Summit at Hotel “The Oberoi” from 11:00 a.m to 9:00 pm. National Security Summit witnessed prominent Government Ministers, Defence Personnel and Eminent Personalities as key speakers including Mr. Amit Shah (President BJP ), Mr. Arun Jaitely (Minister of Finance) and Corporate Affairs, Mr. Rajnath Singh ( Minister of Home Affairs ), Ms. Nirmala Sitharaman ( Minister of Defence), Mr. Digvijay Singh ( Former Chief Minister), Former Chief of Army General Bikram Singh and Former Chief Air Marshal Anil Yashwant.

The event was a great exposure for students as it gave a view & understanding about the current security challenges after air strike, current condition & capability of security of the nation & about the Diplomatic, Economic & Military Relationships.

The event also provided them a wonderful opportunity to meet and interact with the Strong leaders, Ex- Defence Personnel & many stalwarts.The students also raised questions to experts. It was a highly engaging experience under the CIS Platform.

Holi is a festival that brings in new colors, new hope & new passion. To celebrate this colorful spirit of the festival, students of GLBIMR organized Holi Milan at its Greater Noida Campus on March 19, 2019. The celebration of the auspicious festival of colors began with the wishes from Mr. Pankaj Agarwal, Vice Chairman, GL Bajaj Educational Institutions and with the greetings of a blessed, happy and safe Holi from Dr. Urvashi Makkar, Director General, GLBIMR.

The festive spirit was celebrated with the vibes of colors; the GLBIMR family rejoiced the spirit of unity in diversity with cultural events organized by the students. The Holi Milan was a celebration of the laurels we have gained and the wonderful achievements yet to come.
