GLBIMR’s Senior Professor Conferred with “Best Research Supervisor Award-2017”
It gives us immense pleasure to share that, (Dr.) Brijendra Singh Yadav, Professor, GLBIMR, was conferred with “The Best Research Supervisor Award- 2017” during the “SMART SUMMIT – 2017”; the National Conference on December 10, 2017 in Madurai, Tamil Nadu by the PEARL Foundation for Educational Excellence. Dr. Urvashi Makkar, Director General, GLBIMR, congratulated Dr. Yadav for this great achievement and adding to the glory of GLBIMR as well.
Pearl foundation every year confers such distinguished awards to the academicians and researchers in higher education Pan India on the occasion of International Noble Prize day. The Award was given to Dr. Yadav for his exemplary contribution to Research in the field of Management after a high level short listing done against the total of 236 nominations received by the jury committee. The same foundation also had conferred ‘The Best Director Award’ to Dr. Yadav in the year 2016 the same day.

WISDOMITES Club Activity, “1st Sustainability Quiz Competition” on November 20, 2017
WISDOMITES Club organized, “1st Sustainability Quiz Competition” on November 20, 2017, under the visionary guidance of Dr. Urvashi Makkar, Director General, GLBIMR. This competition was organized to evaluate the best team of GLBIMR on sustainability knowledge respect. The event was led by the faculty coordinator, Dr. Chandan Medatwal.
The “GLBIMR- 1st SUSTAINABILITY QUIZ COMPETITION” Winners were as follows :
1st Prize – Supriya Upadhdhya and Surbhi Bansal,
1st Runners up- Shubham Tiwari and Vipin Singh
2nd Runners up – Naveen and Mohini.
Apart from winners two more teams were applauded for their outstanding performance viz- Satyendra Kumar/Shakakha Dalania and Rahul Rout /Ravikant Tiwari.
The event was concluded with the “Prize Distribution Ceremony” by Dr. Urvashi Makkar, Director General, who congratulated the winners and motivated the participants with her inspirational address.

Panel Discussion on “Opportunities in Stock Market” on December 04, 2017 @ GLBIMR
Under the visionary guidance of Dr. Urvashi Makkar, Director General, GLBIMR; a Panel Discussion on “Opportunities in Stock Market” was organized on December 04, 2017 for PGDM Batch 2016-18 & 2017-19. The distinguished panelists were Mr. Pulock Bhattacharji, Vice President, BSE Limited and Mr. Rajeev Garg, Head, Business Operations, BSE Limited. Dr. Makkar warmly welcomed the guests speakers and shared the importance of such insightful sessions, she emphasized that, insightful financial professionals will drive innovation, growth, and value in today’s dynamic world economy, therefore it is much relevant for the students to acquire the knowledge and skills needed.
Mr. Pulock shared that, India has a diversified financial sector, which is undergoing rapid expansion. The sector comprises commercial banks, insurance companies, non-banking financial companies, co-operatives, pension funds, mutual funds and other smaller financial entities. Mr. Rajeev shared that the current market is very volatile and it’s very important to have an edge over others in order to survive. Both the eminent panelists shared their views on growing opportunities in Stock Market. The session was interactive & students asked relevant queries, which were duly answered by the expert panelists.

We feel proud to share that Dr. Urvashi Makkar, Director General, GLBIMR, was invited as Guest of Honour during the Valedictory Session of International Programme on Small Business Planning and Promotion (SBPP) & Trainers Training on Self Help Group Formation Growth and Sustenance (TT-SHGFGS) on December 01, 2017, where she shared her views on the significance of Entrepreneurial culture to be developed in B-Schools for the contributions towards nation building through job creation & not by becoming job seekers.
More than 36 participants from 14 countries like Peru, Russia, Sri Lanka, South Africa, Ethopia, Uganda, Uzbekistan , Zimbabwe etc participated. The Chief Guest of the event was Dr. C.B. Sharma, Chairman, NIOS, while Dr. Rishi Raj Singh, Director & Training Officer, NIESBUD was the Programme Director, who also talked about the situation of small business & their contribution to the GDP of our country. This International Programme brought together the most innovative and influential leaders from industry, government, policy makers, training institutions, NGOs, and education with the opportunity to exchange information and best practices of Entrepreneurship.

With much pride and honor, we share that, Dr. Urvashi Makkar, Director General; GLBIMR was invited as an eminent panelist at “HR Townhall-2017” organized by People and Management HR Magazine on 21st November at Metropolitan Hotel, Connaught Place, New Delhi. Along with Dr. Makkar , Mr. Ketan Kapoor , CEO & Co-founder- Mettl, Mr. Vivek Gupta , CEO –Storecheq and Mr. Deepak Bharara, CHRO, Lanco Infratech Limited were also invited as panelist for the event.
Dr. Urvashi Makkar, during the session discussed about Employability & Skills for India, Creating a High Performance Culture, Enriching HR Processes – Recruitment, Development, Retention, Creating Happiness at the Workplace and The Succession Conundrum: Building Leadership Pipeline.

GLBIMR Launched Orientation on “Student Entrepreneurship Program” by National Entrepreneurship Network on November 15, 2017 at its Greater Noida campus
We are pleased to share that GLBIMR has signed MOU with the WF Global Network as a host incubation institute for National Entrepreneurship Network (NEN) on November 15, 2017 at its Greater Noida campus.
The Orientation Program was organized under the visionary guidance of Dr. Urvashi Makkar, Director General, GLBIMR. The resource person of this program was Dr. Shruti Sinha, Regional Manager, WF Global Foundation.
Dr. Makkar shared that the Student Entrepreneurship Module of NEN will open doors to infinite opportunities for the budding managers in a business environment which requires agile leaders with entrepreneurial spirit. Dr. Shruti Sinha explained the students the benefits of Learnwise program, procedural steps to register for the course and what resources can be extracted from the course. NEN would be conducting the course in 4 modules – WF 100, WF – 101, WF – 102, WF – 103. Students from the Post Graduate Management program were encouraged to join the course which intends to impart innovation and skill-development to empower our students to emerge as successful business leaders.
It was indeed a great learning and igniting session. GLBIMR looks forward to delivering quality training to aspiring entrepreneurs through this course.

GL Bajaj Institute of Management and Research, Greater Noida organized “Sankalp2K17”, its annual Inter Institute Cultural Festival on November 24, 2017, Friday at its Greater Noida Campus under the guidance of Mr. Pankaj Agarwal, Vice Chairman, GL Bajaj Educational Institutions and Dr. Urvashi Makkar, Director General, GLBIMR. The Chief Guest of the event was Dr. Shikha Nehru Sharma, Founder & Managing Director, Nutri- Health Systems, while other eminent Guests of honour for the event were Ms.Kcalpana Bhushan, President, Kcalpana Kala Kendra, Ms. Pammi Talwar, Senior Trainer, The Winning Mantra , Mr. Rohit Gandotra, Business Manager- America Operation, Cygnet Infotech LLC, Dr. Rishi Raj Singh, Director and Training Officer NIESBUD and Dr. Pooran Chandra Pandey, CEO, Dialogue of Civilisations Research Institute Berlin, Germany.
This one day extravaganza of art and culture witnessed participation from more than 500 students from 50 Institutes across Delhi NCR. Cash prizes of more than Rs. 55000 were awarded to the participants for the best performances on the stage, also the Gift Vouchers from companies like Decathlon, Organic India, FitBit & Habib’s were given.
The main events of “Sankalp2k17” were Alaap (Duet & Group Singing Competition), Dazzling Doubles (Andaaz Apna Apna (Play/Skit/Drama/Nukkad Natak), Andaaz-e-Libaaz (Fashion Show Duet Dance Competition), Jhoom Barabar Jhoom (Group Dance Competition),), JunkYard (Art from waste), RangRezz (Rangoli Making Competition), Shoot the Mood (Short Film/Movie making competition) and Splash (Face Painting competition). This year the highlights of this event were “An Extravaganza of ‘Folk dances of India’, by KCalpana Kala Kendra”, a renowned cultural group of NCR. Apart from this, the Voice of India Kids Finalist Shreya Basu; Models like Karishma Talwar, Face of MTV Splitsvilla 8, Anchor at HomeShop18 and many more known Celebrities were the main attractions of “Sankalp2k17”.
GLBIMR presented a gala of culture and music platter which every soul rejoiced to extremely. It was indeed a platform for interaction and amalgamation of young talent and knack.
