GLBIMR Students participated in Aaj Tak Debate Show- “Halla Bol” & “Takkar”, Broadcasted Live on National Television, organized by The India Today Group on July 21, 2018

The students of GL Bajaj Institute of Management & Research of PGDM Batch 2018–20 participated in Aaj Tak Debate Show- “Halla Bol & Takkar”, a debate on “Poor Response to No Confidence Motion” on Saturday, July 21, 2018 at The India Today Group Office “Mediaplex”, Noida. The event was a part of the ongoing Corporate Interface Series (CIS) initiated under the guidance of Dr. Urvashi Makkar, Director General, GLBIMR.

The distinguished speakers of the debate includes Mr. Sambhik Patra, National Spokesperson – Bharatiya Janata Party, Mr. Ghanshyam Tiwari, National Spokesperson – Samajwadi Party and Mr. Rajeev Tyagi, Spokesperson – Indian National Congress. Students of GLBIMR actively participated in the debate and asked questions from the panel of national leaders related to the issues of Social Unrest, Lok Pal Bill, Communalism, Womens Safety & Security. In addition to this, students also got the chance to introduce themselves to Senior Politicians and Media persons adding to their experience of personal and professional networking. This visit catalyzed GLBIMR-ians to understand the innovative offerings of the Institute to enhance their skills as dynamic management professionals.

Knowledge Sharing Session on Summer Internship Project by Industry Experts on July 24, 2018 at GL Bajaj Institute of Management & Research, Greater Noida

Taking forth the journey of reinforcement of professional excellence amongst its students, GL Bajaj Institute of Management & Research, Greater Noida organized a Knowledge Sharing Session on Summer Internship Project by Industry Experts on July 24, 2018. This unique initiative was taken under the astute leadership of Dr. Urvashi Makkar, Director General GLBIMR. Experts from the Corporate Industry were invited to be the part of the panel for Knowledge Sharing Session designed for the final review of Summer Internship Projects. The eminent panelists included Ms. Lata Mali, Assistant Vice President, Almondz Global Securities Ltd, Mr. Sumit Bihari, Senior Analyst, IHS Markit, Ms. Yuri Kushwaha, Sales Executive, Radisson Blu, Mr. Arindam, Operations Manager, Decathlon, Ms. Suchika, Sports Leader Coach, Decathlon, Mr. Danish Wasim, Operations & Campus Relation, First Naukri.com , Mr. Arun Choudhary, Senior HR Executive, Big Bazaar and dignitary from American Express.

During the session, Dr. Urvashi Makkar highlighted that GLBIMR-ians have delivered outstanding performance in their Summer Internship Program 2018 and were awarded 46 appreciation letters and 02 Pre-Placement Offers. The Industry Experts shared their valuable insights with students about developing skills sets and choosing the right career path ahead. The panelists also reviewed the Summer Internship Projects of the students.

The knowledge sharing session was highly interactive and escalated the learning of the students from their Summer Internship.

Director General invited as Expert Panelist in India Empire Business & Diplomacy Summit – 2018

It gives us immense pleasure to share that Dr. Urvashi Makkar, Director General, GL Bajaj Institute of Management and Research, Greater Noida was invited as an Expert Panelist in India Empire Business & Diplomacy Summit-2018 organized by ONGC and Indian Empire Magazine on July 17, 2018 at Indian Habitat Centre, New Delhi. The event was inaugurated by the Chief Guests of the event Mr. Suresh Prabhu, Hon’ble Minister for Commerce and Industry and Minister for Civil Aviation, Government of India, Mr. Anant Geete, Hon’ble Minister for Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises, Government of India and Mr. KJ Alphons, Hon’ble Minister of State for Tourism (IC) and Minister for Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India. The inaugural address was given by Hon’ble Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation, and Shipping, Government of India, Shri Nitin Gadkari.

Dr. Makkar congratulated the organizers Mr. Sayantan Chakravarthy, Editor & Publisher, India Empire Magazine and ONGC for successfully organizing the event. Dr. Makkar, as Expert Panelist shared her insightful views on ‘Education in Globalized World-Opportunities in India and Overseas’. She highlighted that Globalization of higher education has brought remarkable changes in cross-border education. She also emphasized that to cope up with the challenges of making a skillful India the focus should be on 3 parameters – Quality of Education, Regional spread of Education and Affordability of Education as the important tripartite strategy that can increase the contribution of India towards Global Education. She also focused on how Indian Education System can play as a major contributor in bringing Globalization in Education. Dr. Makkar shared the stage with Mr. Gautam Lahiri, Senior Journalist and President, National Press Club of India as session Moderator and other eminent panelist -Dr. Prem Vrat, Pro- Chancellor, Professor of Eminence and Chief Mentor, The North Cap University and Dr. Amrendra Pani, Research Director, Association of India Universities.
