Optimization: Journal of Research in Management

We feel ecstatic to introduce the latest edition of the bi-annual peer-reviewed Journal of GL Bajaj Institute of Management & Research- ‘Optimization’: Journal of Research in Management’ (Volume 10, Number 2, July – December 2018) – ISSN 0974-0988, unveiled during the Induction Program 2018 in the august presence of Mr. Pankaj Agarwal, Vice Chairman, GL Bajaj Educational Institutions, Dr. Urvashi Makkar, Director General, GLBIMR and Chief Editor of the Journal, Dr. Prachi Agarwal, Editor of the journal and the dignitaries of the event.

The latest issue is dedicated to the rapid dissemination of high quality research papers on how advances in new technology, bendable business strategies can help in meeting the impending business challenges and to capitalize on the promises ahead. The current edition presents the kaleidoscopic range of practices and policies influencing the business management and administration such as corporate social responsibility, financial inclusion, business and technology, Indian equity market and quality of work life.

GLBIMR Students participated in Aaj Tak Debate Show- “Halla Bol” & “Takkar”, Broadcasted Live on National Television, organized by The India Today Group on July 21, 2018

The students of GL Bajaj Institute of Management & Research of PGDM Batch 2018–20 participated in Aaj Tak Debate Show- “Halla Bol & Takkar”, a debate on “Poor Response to No Confidence Motion” on Saturday, July 21, 2018 at The India Today Group Office “Mediaplex”, Noida. The event was a part of the ongoing Corporate Interface Series (CIS) initiated under the guidance of Dr. Urvashi Makkar, Director General, GLBIMR.

The distinguished speakers of the debate includes Mr. Sambhik Patra, National Spokesperson – Bharatiya Janata Party, Mr. Ghanshyam Tiwari, National Spokesperson – Samajwadi Party and Mr. Rajeev Tyagi, Spokesperson – Indian National Congress. Students of GLBIMR actively participated in the debate and asked questions from the panel of national leaders related to the issues of Social Unrest, Lok Pal Bill, Communalism, Womens Safety & Security. In addition to this, students also got the chance to introduce themselves to Senior Politicians and Media persons adding to their experience of personal and professional networking. This visit catalyzed GLBIMR-ians to understand the innovative offerings of the Institute to enhance their skills as dynamic management professionals.

Director General invited as an Expert Speaker at Interactive Ideas Meet Session organized by ICPI, DMA and NHRD on July 26, 2018

It gives us immense pleasure to share that Dr. Urvashi Makkar, Director General, GL Bajaj Institute of Management & Research, Greater Noida was invited as an Expert Speaker on “Mindfulness and Happiness for Personal & Professional Life” organized by International Consulting Professional Institute (ICPI), Delhi Management Associations (DMA) and National Human Resource Development (NHRD) on July 26, 2018 at India Habitat Center, New Delhi. The meet witnessed participation of delegates from the world of Academia, Consulting and Corporate. Along with Dr. Urvashi Makkar, Mr. Sanjay Anand, Gurukul Scholar from London School of Economics was also invited as the Expert Speaker for this meet.

Dr. Urvashi Makkar during her address complimented the organizers, Mr. Deepak Bharara, Trustee and Director, ICPI, Delhi Management Associations (DMA) and National Human Resource Development (NHRD) for successfully organizing the event. She highlighted the Happiness Advantage, which organisations can develop by creating happiness amongst the employees. She emphasized the happiness principles by Shawn Anchor, the celebrated Happiness Researcher and also suggested that companies should have employee’s wellness programs in order to enhance the level of satisfaction and succor among the employees. She also accorded her views on employee’s motivation and to attain contentment and satisfaction at the workplace.

The session was highly interactive and involved loads of Q&A related to achieving excellence and a healthy psychological state in personal and professional life using mindfulness & happiness.

Technovation Club of GLBIMR is organizing its first club activity by the name ” The Cutting Edge” -From another Point of view on 27th July, 2018.The main aim of the club activities is to develop and inspire the students to be innovative and learn the latest trends in technology disruption. One-Day Workshop on EXIM (Export-Import) Management in India on July 25, 2018

GL Bajaj Institute of Management & Research organized a One-Day Workshop on EXIM (Export-Import) Management by Dr. Sanjiv Mittal, Dean and Professor, Guru Govind Singh Indraprastha University, Delhi on July 25, 2018 for PGDM Batch 2017-19. This workshop was designed with the objective to equip the students with the recent compliance related to Export-Import Management in India. GLBIMR has also introduced a Value Added Course on Export-Import Management which will be guided by Dr. Sanjeev Mittal.

Dr. Urvashi Makkar shared that this workshop will familiarize students with basic import and export procedures and technical terminologies of EXIM Management. She expressed that the workshop will enable the students to emerge as global professionals with an understanding of International Business and its complexities. Dr. Sanjeev Mittal shared the basic procedures and plans for starting the Export-Import Business. He gave an overview of India’s current Foreign Trade Policy and different types of incentives available to the exporters. He highlighted that under the Director General of Foreign Trade, Government of India, the Export-Import initiatives in India are the indispensable component of the B-school curriculum.
