Under the insightful guidance of Mr. Pankaj Agrawal, Vice Chairman, GL Bajaj Educational Institutions and cultivated acumen of Dr. Urvashi Makkar, Director General, GLBIMR ; The 2nd International Conference on “Achieving Sustainable Strategic Advantage” (ICASSA-2k17), on Saturday, September 09, 2017 at its Greater Noida campus, where around 400 International & National delegates participated. The mega event was inaugurated by Mr. Pankaj Agrawal, Vice Chairman, GL Bajaj Institutions, Dr. Urvashi Makkar, Director General, GLBIMR along with His Excellency, Alem Tsehaye Woldemariam, Ambassador, Embassy of the State of Eritrea, Mr. Ashish Patel, Managing Director, Morgan Franklin Consulting, USA, Mr. Dilip Raj, VP & Senior Managing Partner, Max Life Insurance Ltd, Mr. Siddharth Talwar, Master Chef, Mr. Raman Kalra, Managing Partner, PwC India, Ms. Jaya Mazumder, Chief Mentor and Corporate Stylist, Mindspace Consulting Consortium Group and Dr. Rishi Raj Singh, Director, Training (UEPA), NIESBUD.The International Delegates from more than 15 countries like USA, Germany, Egypt, Nambia, Romania, SriLanka, Kenya, UAE, Thailand, Ghana participated in the Conference.
Mr. Pankaj Agarwal, welcomed the Guests and emphasized that the demand of today’s world is novelty, creativity, and integration of knowledge at global level, research, critical and analytical thoughts and the conference would bring in constructive discussions regarding achieving sustainable strategical advantage. Dr Urvashi Makkar, in her inaugural address, very strongly highlighted the importance of continuously reinventing the business strategies, to be always ahead of the competitors and to avoid fading away. She said that, in emerging markets, growth opportunities exist and the business leaders are constantly working on finding out more innovative ways to strengthen competitive edge as well as sustain it.
The conference was endorsed by the insights of expert speakers like: His Excellency Alem Tsehaye Woldemariam who shared insightful experiences from India – Africa work culture, Mr Raman Kalra enthralled the audience with his powerful session where he discussed the importance of creating consumer loyalty and continuously renovate the strategies. The audience was left awe-struck with the story of success of MasterChef, Sidharth Talwar, who emphasized that there is no substitute to passion and hard work. Ms. Jaya Mazumder also extended her powerful session, in which she stressed on the fact that achieving sustainable advantage would become easier, if we follow our dreams. Dr. Rishi Raj Singh presented his views on being flexible and competitive at the same time and shared the importance of being furure ready & adaptive. He emphasized on the vision of Hon’ble Prime Minister of developing a skilled India. Mr. Ashish Patel enlightened the audience with his immense knowledge about current global strategies, he discussed various business environmental challenges and the ways of adapting innovative business models. Mr. Dilip Raj presented the practical orientation of using business frameworks by breaking the myths and inculcate latest maxims in business, by the concept of design thinking.
The Conference witnessed presence of renowned experts from corporate & academia and more than 100 research papers were presented in the technical sessions which brought together academicians, researchers, practitioners and research students from around the world to discuss how to achieve that balance between strategical innovations & sustainability of organizations. Conference Proceedings of ICASSA2k17 was released on this occasion, which has rich collection of 106 abstracts, from divergent set of academicians, professionals, research scholars and subject experts.

“Knights of the Words” Club of GLBIMR, organized “Magical WOW activity”, on September 15, 2017.
The objective of this activity, which had an assortment of multiple diverse contests, was to bring out the hidden talent of the students, giving them opportunities to showcase their expertise and strong areas.

Faculty Coordinator, Ms Silky Sharma, led the activity in a very professional manner, making it a great learning for the students. GLBIMR clubs are actively organizing various relevant club activities to sharpen the skills of the students.
A blazing debate on GST by FINANCE CLUB @GLBIMR
GLBIMR Campus is abuzz with various lively & energetic club activities, where the students are being given diverse opportunities, to not only explore, but also showcase their talent. Organization of such club activities is the momentous overture, initiated by Dr. Urvashi Makkar, Director General, GLBIMR.
The finance club successfully organized a Debate Competition on the topic: “GST – A game changer or a game spoiler”, on September 14, 2017, under the guidance of faculty coordinator, Dr. Anand Rai. Students from both the batches took part in this competition enthusiastically and expressed their views, “for & against” the topic. Abhishek Gaur ( PGDM 2017-19) was the winner who spoke in favour of the motion and Neelam (PGDM 2017-19) was the runner up,

Pooja (PGDM 2016-18) bagged the award for speaking against the motion, Satyender Kumar was declared as the runner up.
It proved to be a great learning activity for the students, who also got a chance to enhance their public speaking skills.

GLBIMR successfully organized a five days long Induction Program for PGDM Batch 2017-19 from July 10-14, 2017 on the theme- “Corporate Expectations and Insights for Aspiring Managers”.
The Induction Program witnessed enlightening sessions by eminent expert speakers from corporate & academics. Students were overwhelmed by the kind of sessions delivered by the Corporate experts like Mr. Rajiv Kapoor, Executive Director-Group HRM, MINDA Group, Ms. Simin Askari, Vice President – HR, DS Group, Mr Anup Mandal, Chief Technology Officer, HT Media Ltd, Mr. Mathieu Jouve, Villard Managing Partner Wedge Consulting, Mr. Rajiv Sahdev, Group President, JBM and many more.

CIS Activity – GLBIMR Students at the Brand Marquee Event
GLBIMR students are provided various platforms to learn & acquire exposure of the corporate world; Corporate Interface Series (CIS) is one of the most successful corroboration of the same, under the guidance of Dr. Urvashi Makkar, Director General, GLBIMR.
Recently, PGDM Batch 2017-19 students got an opportunity to participate in Brand Marquee, a scintillating corporate event, packed with renowned Business leaders from across the nation, organized by MBARendezvous, held on September 7, 2017, at India Islamic Cultural Center, New Delhi. The agenda topic of the event was “Brand is the theme of Entrepreneurial Manager”, where Mr. Manoj Kohli, Executive Chairman at SoftBank Energy was the chief guest and many leading business leaders like Mr. Arvind Vohra, Gionee India, Mr. Sushil Pandit, The Hive Communications, Mr. Pankaj Dubey, CEO, Eicher Polaris Pvt. Ltd, Mr. Ashish Bansal, Samsung Electronics, Mr. Manish Aggarwal, Bikanervala Foods Pvt. Ltd and many more such renowned dignitaries , were part of the elaborative panel during various sessions.
Our students not only participated, but also volunteered the whole event, and contributed in Registration, Stage Handling, Session Coordinating etc. It was a great networking platform for the students where they also asked several relevant queries, which were appreciated & addressed by the speakers.
Singing Sensations at GLBIMR in a Musical Extravaganza !! – Harmony of Sur & Taal
With much excitement and pride, we share that GLBIMR hosted one of the Country’s most acclaimed musical show by Sangam Kala Group, the 37th Surtarang- National Talent Hunt Program, at its Greater Noida Campus, on September 13 & 14, 2017.
Dr. Urvashi Makkar, Director General, GLBIMR, welcomed all the artists & jury members, to the campus along-with Mr. VSK. Sood, National President, Sangam Kala Group. Mr. Kshitij Mathur, Mr. Narender Passi, Mr. Shahid Wahid Khan. Mr. Sood extended his heartfelt gratitude, to Dr. Makkar, for hosting this Mega event at the campus. They acknowledged the warm hospitality of GLBIMR & discipline of the students, who supported the event as Volunteers. Many students of GLBIMR also reached the Semi Finals, Apoorva Shukla left the audinde spell bound with his soulful performance , Aggaya Sharma, Abhishek Dubey, Rahul Rout & Prachi Trivedi of PGDM Batch 2017-19, also mesmerized the audience and reached till the semi final rounds. We are proud of all of them.
The campus turned into a hub of musical harmony, when celebrity singers like Krishna Berua (playback singer of chartbusters like Maula mere lele meri Jaan , O Soniyo, Rabba and many more) , Tarun Sagar, Eminent Playback Singer of Sa Re Ga Ma fame, Mohit Chopra ( Indian Idol finalist) , Suchi Arora ( The Voice Finalist ) , Ashu Bajaj, Minal Roy and many more budding artists mesmerized the audience with their melodious , energetic & rocking performances.
More than 400 talented budding aspirants from across NCR, came in for the auditions on September 13, 2017 and gave tough time to the jury during the Semi- Finals on September 14, 2017. The Grand finales would be on September 18, where the legendry singer, Sonu Nigam will be the chief Guest!!

GLBIMR Student got Rs 200000 Scholarship from Capital First Limited
Its a pleasure to share that, under the great initiative by Capital First in association with GLBIMR, one of our student, Shrishti Singh of PGDM Batch 2017-19 has received a Scholarship grant of Rs 200000 (Rs. 100000 each year), in the Capital First Scholarship Program . Shrishti has been selected by the jury/panel of Capital First on the basis of the guidelines of the program.
