Business Summit 2020

G.L. Bajaj Institute of Management & Research. PGDM Institute, Greater Noida conducted Business Summit 2020 on “Reorientation of HR Practices Post Covid 19: How to Adapt & Evolve!” on Saturday, July 04, 2020 for the students of PGDM Batch 2019-21 under the insightful headship of Mr. Pankaj Agarwal, Vice Chairman, GL Bajaj Educational Institutions and in the patronage of Dr. Ajay Kumar, Director, GLBIMR.

The panel of the summit was graced by the esteemed presence of renowned industry leaders like Major General Dilawar Singh, Sr. Vice President, Global Economist Forum, AO ECOSOC United Nations, Mr. Sanjeev Kumar, Ex Head, HR, Bajaj Power, Mr. Dilip Sinha, Head HR, JSW Steel and Mr. Rakesh Seth, Business Consultant, Facilitator, Author, Speaker, Ex -Tata’s, Shriram’s, Thapar’s, Anand’s, ACC-Everest, Lloyd.

The event started with invocation of Goddess Saraswati. The welcome address was delivered by Dr. Ajay Kumar, Director, GLBIMR. During the session, Major General Dilawar Singh stated that HR is the most critical component in any organization and it has huge opportunities for transformation. He said that industries are facing shortage of inventory and added that educational institutions are closed for a long period of time. In today’s situation of Covid-19 and due to lockdown, there is less revenue generation in various sectors and that’s why government is charging more for petrol and diesel. He added that IT companies have enhanced their productivity while practicing work from home. He further stated that business process re-engineering is here and reorientation of HR should focus on strategies. Mr. Sanjeev Kumar stated that the most important thing for HR is to know how to execute a plan into action. One should involve employees in decision making process so that they can share their opinion on organizational policies, health care, career advancement, etc and hence makes way for new ideas or suggestions. Before concluding, he said that it’s time to rethink and work for organization’s betterment. Mr. Dilip Sinha guided the youth of India to know how to implement the laws in different areas. He discussed four macro level aspects on which HR should focus – first is hiring i.e. HR should look for the perfect employee they can hire, second is process part i.e. how the processing is going on, third is technology to check whether the things are going in a smooth way or not and fourth is whole ecosystem. He elaborated that if you want to succeed then you must execute your plans into action. Mr. Rakesh Seth shared that due to Covid-19, offices have shut down and employees are being fired, so the main thing HR should focus on is the re-designing of policies, reorientation and maintaining employees’ morale as there is fear among employees about what will happen next. He said in today’s time HR should focus on digitization as everything is happening online from telephonic interviews to hiring. He suggested that HR should know public relation skills as they have to look for external stakeholders and have to maintain public relations with them.

It was a detailed and thought provoking session which gave a new perspective to understand various different aspects and also enhanced the knowledge of the participants. Finally the session concluded with Vote of Thanks.

International Yoga Day Celebration

GL Bajaj Institute of Management & Research, Greater Noida organized a Special Virtual Yoga Session on 6th International Yoga Day by Shri S. Ravichandran, Renowned Yoga Expert on Saturday, June 20, 2020 for the students of PGDM Batch 2018-20 & 2019-21 under the visionary guidance of Dr. Ajay Kumar, Director, GLBIMR.

The objective of the session was to spread awareness about the importance of yoga, how it provides training of mind, body and soul to bring balance in life & how important it is to include the yoga practices in our daily routine to remain fit and healthy.

The session started with lighting of ceremonial lamp by Dr. Ajay Kumar, Director, GLBIMR. In the session, a video titled ‘The Spirit of Yoga’ was released which was sung by Shri Hariharan, Renowned Singer and Dr. Varsha Narayanan, Founder, Dr. Varsha’s Health Solutions. This musical rendition of Yoga Sutras is a combination of yoga with music which spread positivity, holistic health, peace, joy, bliss and wellness in the world. It also contains the universal message of Yoga Sutras that encourages imbibing and internalizing the essence of yoga into our daily lives and also helps to connect with the tradition of Patanjali Yoga. In his address, Dr. Ajay Kumar shared the importance of practicing yoga and also threw light on how it plays an important role in improving our well being and daily lifestyle. During the session, Shri S. Ravichandran explained all yoga asanas, taught physical, mental and spiritual exercises to the participants and motivated them to adopt yogic pranayama and asanas on a regular basis to boost their immunity and blood circulation. More than 100 participants attended the yoga session which included faculty, staff members and students.

Overall, it was a highly enriching experience for everyone.

GL Bajaj Institute of Management & Research, Greater Noida organized Expert Talk Series on ‘Think Beyond the Horizon: Student Leadership for Success’ by Dr. Kamlesh Misra, Vice Chancellor, Rishihood University on Tuesday, March 03, 2020 in PGDM Auditorium, GLBIMR campus for the students of PGDM Batch 2019-21 under the visionary guidance of Dr. Ajay Kumar, Director, GLBIMR.

The event started with lighting of ceremonial lamp and invocation of Goddess Saraswati. Dr. Ajay Kumar, Director, GLBIMR welcomed the guest by presenting sapling as a token of greeting. The welcome address was delivered by Dr. Ajay Kumar, Director, GLBIMR.

The objective of the session was to enable the students to recognize their capabilities and identify their strengths. The session prepared the managers of tomorrow for leading people with different behavioral traits and also increased their determination to move forward and succeed in life.

While addressing the students, Dr. Kamlesh Misra discussed various aspects of leadership. He told the students that leadership is the capacity to observe beyond the sight and look for opportunities. He also told them that leadership development is a lifelong and continuous process and also made them aware about developing the quality of reflective learning i.e. to think deeply about what you have already learnt. He also introduced the concept of KASH- Knowledge, Attitude, Skills & Hard work which directly affects the performance of an individual. He also emphasized that inspiring leaders are those who use their strengths to motivate individuals and teams to face any crisis situation.

Overall, it was a highly engaging and learning experience for the students. Finally, the session concluded with Vote of Thanks and the felicitation of the guest.

Value Added Certification Course on Marketing Analytics @ GLBIMR

GL Bajaj Institute of Management & Research, Greater Noida conducted Value Added Certification Course on “Marketing Analytics” by Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, Govt. of India (MSME) on February 19 & 20, 2020 in Seminar Hall, GLBIMR campus for the students of PGDM Batch 2019-21 under the visionary guidance of Dr. Ajay Kumar, Director, GLBIMR. The Expert Trainer for the session was Ms. Bhawana Bhardwaj.

The event started with lighting of ceremonial lamp and invocation of Goddess Saraswati. Dr. Ajay Kumar, Director, GLBIMR welcomed the guests by presenting sapling as a token of greeting.

The objective of the session was to impart professional skills & attributes in the students which would enhance their overall development & make them industry ready. The concept of marketing analytics facilitates not only to improve the effectiveness but also allows the marketers to take a successful shot at optimizing the Return on Investment.

The various concepts covered in the session were Marketing Analytics Essentials & Introduction, Introducing Google Analytics, The Google Analytics Layout, Basic Reporting, Basic Campaign and Conversion Tracking. An online test was conducted after the completion of the course.

The students gained hands on experience about techniques of converting marketing analytics knowledge into results. The session ended with felicitation of the guests. Overall, it was a highly engaging and learning experience for the students.

Matribhasha Diwas Celebration @ GLBIMR

GL Bajaj Institute of Management & Research, Greater Noida celebrated Matribhasha Diwas to commemorate the International Mother Language Day – a day dedicated to promote awareness about linguistic cultural diversity and multilingualism on Friday, February 21, 2020 in PGDM Auditorium, GLBIMR campus for the student

s of PGDM Batch 2019-21 under the visionary guidance of Dr. Ajay Kumar, Director, GLBIMR.

In his welcome address, Dr. Ajay Kumar, Director, GLBIMR told the students about the rich linguistic diversity of our country and encouraged them to maintain its cultural heritage by giving respect to their Mother Tongue. Amidst the growing usage of English language in today’s scenario, he emphasized on the importance of regional languages and encouraged everyone to feel proud of their own Mother Tongue. The students presented various cultural programmes like regional dance performance, regional song performance, poetry citation, etc.

Finally, the event concluded with Vote of Thanks and National Anthem.

Panel Discussion @ GLBIMR

GL Bajaj Institute of Management & Research, Greater Noida organized Panel Discussion on ‘Changing Marketing Landscape in India: A Roadmap Ahead’ on Saturday, February 15, 2020 in PGDM Auditorium, GLBIMR campus under the visionary guidance of Dr. Ajay Kumar, Director, GLBIMR.

The event started with lighting of ceremonial lamp and invocation of Goddess Saraswati. Dr. Ajay Kumar, Director, GLBIMR welcomed the guests by presenting sapling as a token of greeting. In his welcome address, Dr. Ajay Kumar, Director, GLBIMR talked about the evolving landscape right from the policies of the budget presented by Ms. Nirmala Sitaraman, Finance Minister of India and also talked about the various technological and social changes that impacts marketing decisions.

The event saw rich deliberations during the two panel discussions. The first discussion was on “Upskilling the Marketing Professional in Changing Business Landscape.” The panelists of the session were Mr. Deepak Choudhary, CEO, Audi, Mr. Manish Shankar, Senior Vice President, Axiom Collaborations & Mr. Manu Awasthy, Senior Partner, IIFL Wealth Management Ltd. Mr. Deepak was the moderator of the session and discussed about the changing consumer behaviour and what as a marketing personal should try to get the insight of the consumer behaviour. He also talked about how students should analyze the data to frame evolving strategy in the new market place. Many students asked their queries like how to sustain the job of sales in this disrupting environment and what technical skill set were required to complement the sales job.

The second panel was moderated by Mr. Vineet Mittal, Director, Upwards and Emerging and the panelists of the session were Ms. Saloni Arora, Director, Account Planning, Impact Communication and Mr. Dipesh Vageriya, ASM, Tata Consumer Product Ltd. Deliberations during the session included the social ecosystem which drives our decision regarding the jobs we choose. Many students were confused regarding whether they should learn programming language such as python, R, etc.

Finally, the event concluded with Vote of Thanks and the felicitation of the guests.

SANKALP 2020 @ GLBIMR (Day-2)

Upholding the pomp and glamour of the season, GL Bajaj Institute of Management & Research, Greater Noida organized “SANKALP 2020” – An Inter Institute Annual Cultural Fest on Thursday & Friday, February 06 & 07, 2020 at GLBIMR campus under the pioneering leadership of Dr. Ajay Kumar, Director, GLBIMR. SANKALP 2020, a unique confluence of art, music, dance & drama was organized to celebrate the Spirit of Cultural Diversity of India.

The event started with lighting of ceremonial lamp and invocation of Goddess Saraswati followed by a welcome dance presented by GLBIMRians. The welcome address was delivered by Dr. Ajay Kumar, Director, GLBIMR. He welcomed the guests by presenting sapling as a token of greeting. The guests of the event were – RJ Rahul Makin, Bollywood Celebrity, Ms. Shweta Srivastava, Diadem Mrs. India Legacy Classic-2019, Ms. Pooja Dua, Dilli Darling Fame, Zee TV & Ms. Ritu Puri, Winner of Miss India Jharkhand All Nation, Mr. Sumit Pratap Singh, Professional Cricketer/ Ambassador, Swachh Bharat Mission and Ms. Rashmi Ruby Verma, Professional Artist, Acted in Detective Didi, Zee TV.

The second day of the event witnessed participation of more than 200 teams from 35 colleges of Delhi/NCR region in 15 different activities. The young performers enthralled the audience with their scintillating performances in various on-stage and off-stage activities. Following activities were organized on Day 2 and the winners were rewarded with trophies and attractive cash prizes worth Rs. 1 Lac.

Solo Dance: The judge for the event was Ms. Rashmi Ruby Verma, Professional Artist, Acted in Detective Didi, Zee TV. Mr. Ankit Kumar, IEC College was declared the winner.

Duet Dance: The judge for the event was Ms. Ritu Puri, Winner of Miss India Jharkhand All Nation. Ms. Megha & Ms. Nidhi, Sharda University were declared the winners.

Group Dance: The judge for the event was Ms. Pooja Dua, Dilli Darling Fame, Zee TV. Parul Gupta and Team, PGDAV College was declared the winner.

Face Painting: The judge for the event was Ms. Jyoti Kalra, Artist/Curator/Art Consultant/Founder at Uchaan Foundation. Ms. Divya Chaudhary, GLBITM was declared the winner.

T-Shirt Painting: The judge for the event was Ms. Jyoti Kalra, Artist/Curator/Art Consultant/Founder at Uchaan Foundation. Mr. Hemant, College of Arts was declared the winner.

Solo Song: The judge for the event was Ms. Shweta Srivastava, Diadem Mrs. India Legacy Classic-2019. Mr. Sukon Saxena, AAFT, Noida was declared the winner.

Duet Song: The judge for the event was Ms. Pooja Dua, Dilli Darling Fame, Zee TV. Ms. Saniya Mousin, Sharda University was declared the winner.

Rangoli: The judge for the event was Ms. Jyoti Kalra, Artist/Curator/Art Consultant/Founder at Uchaan Foundation. Mr. Hemant, College of Arts was declared the winner.

Fashion Show: The judges for the event were Ms. Ritu Puri, Winner of Miss India Jharkhand All Nation & Ms. Rashmi Ruby Verma, Professional Artist, Acted in Detective Didi, Zee TV. Galgotia University was declared the winner.

Tug of War (Girls): The judges for the event were Mr. Sonu Sharma, Sports Incharge, GLBITM & Prof. Saurabh Mittal, GLBIMR. GGSIPU was declared the winner.

Tug of War (Boys): The judges for the event were Mr. Sonu Sharma, Sports Incharge, GLBITM & Prof. Saurabh Mittal, GLBIMR. Dr. Akhilesh Das Gupta Institute of Technology and Management was declared the winner.

Our Title & Corporate Sponsors were DigiTech and Videsh Visa Immigration. GLBIMR in association with Barry John Acting Studio announced scholarship to the winner of Nukkad Natak, Ms. Priyanka from Rajdhani College. It was indeed a great platform for the students to showcase their creativity and talent & also witnessed mesmerizing amalgamation of art, music, dance & drama on one stage.

The young performers enthralled the audience with their captivating and scintillating performances in various on-stage and off-stage activities. Following activities were organized on Day 1 of Sankalp 2020:

Solo Song Competition: The judge for the event was Mr. Mahendra Achari, Ayodhya Gharana. 11 students were selected for the final round which will be held on February 07, 2020.

Nukkad Natak: The judge for the event was Dr. Aman Sehgal, Barry John Acting Studio. Rajdhani College was declared the winner.

Antakshari: The judge for the event was Dr. Pushpa Choudhary, GLBITM. GL Bajaj Institute of Management & Research, Greater Noida was declared first & second position went to JIMS, Greater Noida.

Poetry Competition (Kavyanjali): The judge for the event was Mr. Ravi Solanky, Founder, The Social House. Mr. Harsh Kumar Kardam, Maharaja Agrasen College, Delhi University was declared the winner & Mr. Ranjeet Pawar, Lloyd Law Co

llege was declared the Runner up.

Extempore: The judges for the event were Prof. Dr. Kirti Dutta, Prof. Dr. Anand Rai & Prof. Mr. Atul Arora from GLBIMR. Mr. Ojasv Singhal, Jaipuria School of Business was declared the winner & Ms. Geetanshi Sachdeva, GLBITM was declared the 1st Runner up.

War of Bands: The judge for the event was Mr. Mahendra Achari, Ayodhya Gharana. Team Wani, KIET, Ghaziabad was declared the winner & Team Young Blood, KIET, Ghaziabad was declared the Runner up.

It was indeed a great platform for the students to showcase their creativity and talent & everyone is waiting eagerly for Day 2 of the cultural extravaganza.
