The resource person for the FDP was Dr. Harsh Pratap Singh, Assistant Professor, GLBIMR. Prof. (Dr.) Ajay Kumar, Director, GLBIMR welcomed the participants and emphasized on the importance of quality research in the career growth of an academician. He also stressed on the need for application-based research in the field of business management.
During the FDP, Dr. Harsh Pratap Singh explained the process of conducting a Systematic Literature Review. He also discussed the standard template of SLR paper along with the search protocol, methodology and classification mechanism for reporting results of a Systematic Literature Review Paper.
This FDP aimed to provide an understanding of the process of writing and publishing “Quality Systematic Literature Review Research Paper”. Overall, it was an informative and a thought provoking session which enhanced the knowledge of the participants.

PGDM Institute, Greater Noida conducted Business Summit 5.0 on “Business Continuity & Resilience in the COVID-19 and Future Implications” on Saturday, August 15, 2020 for the students of PGDM Batch 2019-21 & 2020-22 under the patronage of Mr. Pankaj Agarwal, Vice Chairman, GL Bajaj Educational Institutions and in the insightful headship of Dr. Ajay Kumar, Director, GLBIMR.
The panel of the summit was graced by the esteemed presence of renowned industry leaders like Mr. Sakti Mukherjee, Founder-CEO, Procon Operating Partners, Mauritius, Mr. Anshul Kumar, Regional Manager – West, Resideo International, Mr. Gaurav Kant, Regional Sales Director, Vcloudx Pvt. Ltd., India and SAARC & Mr. Ankur Agarwal, Branch Head, Banking Industry.
The event started with invocation of Goddess Saraswati. Dr. Ajay Kumar, Director, GLBIMR emphasized that due to this pandemic, the Indian economy has been badly affected, so the two major concerns for the government are to control the number of corona cases and to improve the economic scenario of the country.
During the session, the expert speakers shared their viewpoints:
1. Mr. Sakti Mukherjee discussed the different phases to combat this crisis i.e. React, Respond, Re-aim and Re-launch. He shared various aspects of New Normal – movement from globalization to regionalization and changes in lifestyle. He also discussed five areas of supply chain vulnerability – planning and supplier network, transportation and logistics, financial resiliency, product complexity & organizational maturity.
2. Mr. Anshul Kumar described business continuity as to keep on doing the business seamlessly. He also discussed various challenges to business continuity such as offices shut down, disturbed operations & shaking supply chain management. He added that business marketing team tries to connect with new customers but also maintains the relationship with its existing customers.
3. Mr. Gaurav Kant appreciated the efforts of teachers, students, helpers, employees and employers for continuing the work without whom the economy would have collapsed. He added that the main challenge faced in this time is the tremendous fear, falling demand and failing supply chain management. He also emphasized on the importance of adapting to digital solutions.
4. Mr. Ankur Agarwal discussed the banking sector challenges due to Covid-19. He also added that only 25% of the employees are allowed in banks, rest of the team works from home to cater the needs of customers and there has been a limitation on customers’ visits too.
Around 234 participants from across the globe participated in the event. It was a thought provoking session which gave a new perspective to understand various aspects and also enhanced the knowledge of the participants. Finally the session concluded with Vote of Thanks.

The evaluation panel of the session was graced by the esteemed presence of corporate experts like Mr. Arvind Sehra, Store Manager, Dyson Technology India Pvt. Ltd., Mr. Ashish Sharma, Quality Analyst Business Excellence, ACS Global Tech Solutions, Mr. Pradeep Kumar, Branch Manager, SBI Mutual Fund, Ms. Vaishnavi Walia, Account Manager, Zomato, Mr. Pranshul Verma, HR Manager, Percentilers, Ms. Shivani Tyagi, Team Member, Bank of America, Mr. Deepak Kashyup, Manager, Genpact and Mr. Dushyant, Associate, Citi Bank.
During the session, the students presented their Summer Internship Project report to faculty members and corporate experts for evaluation process. The experts evaluated the presentation on the following parameters – introduction and justification of topic, research objectives, research methodology, data analysis, recommendations & suggestions, major findings and presentation skills.
Finally, the experts shared their experiences with the students and also gave their valuable inputs and suggestions to them. Overall, it was a highly engaging session.

In his address, Dr. Ajay Kumar, Director, GLBIMR stated that for the last four months, all economies of the world are struggling with financial and industrial crisis. He also highlighted that 80 million people lost their jobs and that has adversely affected global economy and government is trying hard to minimize its impact but overall scenario remains very bleak. He also shared that policy makers are leaving no stone unturned to revive the economy however recent floods increased the challenges for central and state government in our country. During the session, the guest expert speakers shared their viewpoints:
1. Dr. Anoop Pant shared that the government is taking multiple measures to overcome this crisis through fiscal and monetary policies. He also emphasized to make policies for poor people quickly and efficiently.
2. Dr. Prasoom Dwivedi emphasized that the balance of forces have to be maintained to devise sustainable solutions. He also stated that it is easy to nudge the behaviour of poor people looking at the Dharavi Model in Mumbai.
3. Dr. Gurendra Nath Bhardwaj shared the measures to overcome these challenges like trust in government, better law and order situation, entrepreneurship promotion, etc.
4. Dr. Sudhanshu Joshi highlighted the issues being faced by policy makers to revive the economy. He also emphasized on the role of digital platforms in healthcare, education and communication sector.
5. Dr. Meenal Sharma Jagtap stated that pandemic has caused regional imbalance therefore we need a fresh view on national manufacturing policies. She also stated that service sector requires fresh impetus to revive and avoid unemployment.
6. Mr. Deepak Jalan expressed his positive views on economic recovery and shared that E-Commerce, ITES, Transport-Supply Chain, Utilities sector will grow in coming times. He emphasized that in this digital era students need to focus on new emerging technologies as per the new normal.

The event started with invocation of Goddess Saraswati. The welcome address was delivered by Dr. Ajay Kumar, Director, GLBIMR. During the session, Major General Dilawar Singh stated that HR is the most critical component in any organization and it has huge opportunities for transformation. He said that industries are facing shortage of inventory and added that educational institutions are closed for a long period of time. In today’s situation of Covid-19 and due to lockdown, there is less revenue generation in various sectors and that’s why government is charging more for petrol and diesel. He added that IT companies have enhanced their productivity while practicing work from home. He further stated that business process re-engineering is here and reorientation of HR should focus on strategies. Mr. Sanjeev Kumar stated that the most important thing for HR is to know how to execute a plan into action. One should involve employees in decision making process so that they can share their opinion on organizational policies, health care, career advancement, etc and hence makes way for new ideas or suggestions. Before concluding, he said that it’s time to rethink and work for organization’s betterment. Mr. Dilip Sinha guided the youth of India to know how to implement the laws in different areas. He discussed four macro level aspects on which HR should focus – first is hiring i.e. HR should look for the perfect employee they can hire, second is process part i.e. how the processing is going on, third is technology to check whether the things are going in a smooth way or not and fourth is whole ecosystem. He elaborated that if you want to succeed then you must execute your plans into action. Mr. Rakesh Seth shared that due to Covid-19, offices have shut down and employees are being fired, so the main thing HR should focus on is the re-designing of policies, reorientation and maintaining employees’ morale as there is fear among employees about what will happen next. He said in today’s time HR should focus on digitization as everything is happening online from telephonic interviews to hiring. He suggested that HR should know public relation skills as they have to look for external stakeholders and have to maintain public relations with them.

Ravichandran, Renowned Yoga Expert on Saturday, June 20, 2020 for the students of PGDM Batch 2018-20 & 2019-21 under the visionary guidance of Dr. Ajay Kumar, Director, GLBIMR.
The objective of the session was to spread awareness about the importance of yoga, how it provides training of mind, body and soul to bring balance in life & how important it is to include the yoga practices in our daily routine to remain fit and healthy.
The session started with lighting of ceremonial lamp by Dr. Ajay Kumar, Director, GLBIMR. In the session, a video titled ‘The Spirit of Yoga’ was released which was sung by Shri Hariharan, Renowned Singer and Dr. Varsha Narayanan, Founder, Dr. Varsha’s Health Solutions. This musical rendition of Yoga Sutras is a combination of yoga with music which spread positivity, holistic health, peace, joy, bliss and wellness in the world. It also contains the universal message of Yoga Sutras that encourages imbibing and internalizing the essence of yoga into our daily lives and also helps to connect with the tradition of Patanjali Yoga. In his address, Dr. Ajay Kumar shared the importance of practicing yoga and also threw light on how it plays an important role in improving our well being and daily lifestyle. During the session, Shri S. Ravichandran explained all yoga asanas, taught physical, mental and spiritual exercises to the participants and motivated them to adopt yogic pranayama and asanas on a regular basis to boost their immunity and blood circulation. More than 100 participants attended the yoga session which included faculty, staff members and students.
Overall, it was a highly enriching experience for everyone.

The event started with lighting of ceremonial lamp and invocation of Goddess Saraswati. Dr. Ajay Kumar, Director, GLBIMR welcomed the guest by presenting sapling as a token of greeting. The welcome address was delivered by Dr. Ajay Kumar, Director, GLBIMR.
The objective of the session was to enable the students to recognize their capabilities and identify their strengths. The session prepared the managers of tomorrow for leading people with different behavioral traits and also increased their determination to move forward and succeed in life.
While addressing the students, Dr. Kamlesh Misra discussed various aspects of leadership. He told the students that leadership is the capacity to observe beyond the sight and look for opportunities. He also told them that leadership development is a lifelong and continuous process and also made them aware about developing the quality of reflective learning i.e. to think deeply about what you have already learnt. He also introduced the concept of KASH- Knowledge, Attitude, Skills & Hard work which directly affects the performance of an individual. He also emphasized that inspiring leaders are those who use their strengths to motivate individuals and teams to face any crisis situation.
