Workshop on “Literature Search and Reference Management”
Research & Development Cell of GL Bajaj Institute of Management and Research, Greater Noida organized a workshop on “Literature Search and Reference Management” on Friday, October 18, 2019 in PGDM Auditorium, GLBIMR, Greater Noida campus for the students of PGDM Batch 2018-20. The Expert Resource person for the workshop was Prof. (Dr.) Harsh Pratap Singh, GLBIMR. He conducted hands-on learning sessions to equip the participants with basic & advance skills using Literature Search and Reference Management to produce quality research. The program enabled the participants in identifying and using the right research tools for literature review. Students were also trained for using Mendley for easy and fast literature review and reference management. This initiative will surely be beneficial to the students in doing their dissertation and in future also.
CSR Club Activity
CSR CLUBS -“Protsahan & Sangathan” (PGDM Batch 2018-20 & 2019-21) of GL Bajaj Institute of Management & Research, Greater Noida organized a CSR event in association with Navratan Foundation, Noida – NGO at Navratan Gyanpeeth School and Navratan Adult Education Center on Friday, October 18, 2019. The objectives of this CSR club activity were skill building and mentoring for the slum area primary class students and create awareness on issues related to women rights, hygiene and health awareness for slum area working women.
In the first half, the students under the guidance and supervision of the faculty members gave English, Maths and General Awareness sessions to the underprivileged primary school children in the slum areas. The children thoroughly enjoyed the fun-filled and activity based teaching style of their young mentors (GLBIMR students) and were motivated to come to school regularly.
In the second half, students gave a presentation on women rights and hygiene to the women living in the slums, to make them aware of their rights and the convenience provided by the government for their welfare. The women thanked the students for making them know how to avail the facilities i.e. (Women helpline no. 1090, Ayushman Medical Scheme) which they were not even aware of. The activity which was conducted for the betterment of the society brought a smile on many faces. They thanked GLBIMR and requested them to keep visiting and enlightening them in future also.
Startup Summit on Business Ecosystems, Collaboration and Co-creation
GL Bajaj Institute of Management & Research, Greater Noida organized “Startup Summit” on “Business Ecosystems, Collaboration and Co-creation” on Saturday, October 19, 2019 in PGDM Auditorium, GLBIMR, Greater Noida campus.
The event started with lighting of ceremonial lamp and invocation of Goddess Saraswati. In the welcome address, Mr. Pankaj Agarwal, Vice Chairman, GL Bajaj Educational Institutions stressed upon the need of entrepreneurship for the growth of the nation. The inaugural address was delivered by Dr. Ajay Kumar, Director, GLBIMR in which he stressed upon the importance of startups, various stages in the startup and how the innovative ideas can result in a successful business opportunity. In the address by Chief Guest Dr. DK Aggarwal, Chairman & Managing Director SMC Investments & Advisors Ltd. & President, PHDCCI discussed about the strong macroeconomic indicators and business ecosystems in India.
The first phase of panel discussion was on the theme “Dimensions of Business Ecosystem in India” led by Mr. Raminderr Pal Singh Bakshi, Founder, The Art Culinaire, The Baking Lab & Samossay and Mr. Khalid Isar, Founder & CEO iTech Ecommerce LLP, Global Business Partner, Alibaba.com. The experts shared their own journey as well as guided the aspiring entrepreneurs for their own ventures. The participants asked their queries related to the challenges in the startup launch as well as sustainability of the business plans.
The second phase of panel discussion was on the theme “Collaboration & Competition in Business Ecosystem” led by Mr. Anil Kumar Gupta, Startup Mentor, Ideapreneur Growth, Ms. Neha Bahl, Media & Brand Communication Expert, Founder, Qube Communication, Mr. Pramod K Singh, Co-founder & Director, Board of Governors, AICAPD, Mr. Vinayak Kumar Lal, Senior General Manager, DS Group and Mr. Vinay Ahuja, MD & CEO PaisaArrangers.com. The experts stressed upon the need of collaboration for expansion and business process optimisation. The startups generally start very small and they grow exponentially. The entrepreneurs may not be ready for so many tasks with ample resources, hence the collaborations are needed for success.
The third phase of panel discussion was on the theme “Build & Manage a Co-creation Ecosystem” led by Mr. Govind Singh, Founder, Unnat Kisan, Ms. Khyati Minglani, Founder, Trailblazer PR and Ms. Sneha Saikia, Freelance Chef & Entrepreneur. The experts shared their own startup journey starting with the ideation, various challenges they faced and how they were able to succeed in the competitive environment. The experts also discussed about the co-creation ecosystems, which give opportunity to startups to complement their efforts with others.
The summit had enthusiastic audience comprising of students and faculty members of other universities and institutions. The attendees were benefited with the knowledge and experience shared by the distinguished guests.
Wealth Maximization Competition by Number Crunchers
GL Bajaj Institute of Management & Research, Greater Noida organized “Wealth Maximization Competition” by “Number Crunchers – The Finance Club” on Thursday, October 17, 2019 at GLBIMR, Greater Noida campus under the visionary guidance of Dr. Ajay Kumar, Director, GLBIMR with the objective to sensitize the students about the online share trading for wealth maximization. This session was organized to make the students aware of the rules, regulations and trading process of MoneyBhai (Virtual online stock trading platform). Prof. Dr. Anand Rai also explained the basic terminology of stock trading along with tips and tricks for wealth maximization to the students of PGDM Batch 2019-21.
Conclave on the topic “Leadership in the Era of Industry 4.0”
Director’s Executive Club (PGDM 2019-21 Batch) of GL Bajaj Institute of Management & Research, Greater Noida organized Leadership Conclave on the topic “Leadership in the Era of Industry 4.0” on Wednesday, October 16, 2019 in PGDM Auditorium, GLBIMR campus under the visionary guidance of Mr. Pankaj Agarwal, Vice Chairman, GL Bajaj Educational Institutions. The Chief Guest and judge for the event was Mr. Anil Swarup, IAS, (Indian Author, Ex-Secretary, Dept. of School Education & Literacy, GOI and Ex-Secretary, Ministry of Coal, GOI). The event started with lighting of ceremonial lamp and invocation of Goddess Saraswati. Dr. Ajay Kumar, Director, GLBIMR welcomed the guest by presenting a sapling as a token of greeting. The introductory address was delivered by Dr. Ajay Kumar, Director, GLBIMR. The event witnessed enriching, enlightening and knowledge sharing session by Mr. Anil Swarup. The leadership conclave was organized for the students as the promotion of leadership and professional development will help the students to gear up to enter the rapidly changing field. In the final round, shortlisted five speakers – Ms. S. Taniya, Mr. Mayank Dixit, Ms. Soni Kumari, Mr. Alok Kumar and Ms. Swati Pandey of Batch 2019-21 presented themselves on the topic “Disruptive Technology” and deliberated on different aspects of industry 4.0.Finally, after critical analysis and on the basis of the judgement by Mr. Anil Swarup, three winners were felicitated with certificates.
Vote of Thanks was presented by Ms. Aditi Rastogi and Ms. Shalini Shishodia. They thanked the guest, dignitaries and students who has attended the event and made it successful. Finally the event concluded with national anthem.
HANGAMA – 2K19
Upholding the pomp and glamour of the festive season, GL Bajaj Institute of Management & Research, Greater Noida organized “HANGAMA 2k19”- A Musical Extravaganza at SHD Auditorium, GLB campus. The event was organized under the pioneering leadership of Mr. Pankaj Agarwal, Vice Chairman, GL Bajaj Educational Institutions and Dr. Ajay Kumar, Director, GLBIMR on October 15, 2019, Tuesday.
The event started with lighting of ceremonial lamp and invocation of Goddess Saraswati. Mr. Pankaj Agarwal, Vice Chairman, GL Bajaj Educational Institutions, Dr. Ajay Kumar, Director, GLBIMR and Dr. Rajeev Agarwal, Director, GLBITM welcomed the guests by presenting saplings as token of greetings. The welcome address was delivered by Mr. Pankaj Agarwal, Vice Chairman, GL Bajaj Educational Institutions. The campus turned into a musical hub as the event witnessed mesmerizing performances by Bollywood artists that was thoroughly enjoyed by the audience. The performers of the event – Mr. Manoj Jaiswal (MJ), Bollywood Singer, Ms. Sangeeta Kapoor, Bollywood Anchor/Model/Actor, Mr. Santosh Tandon, Top Rated Anchor & Stand Up Comedian and Ms. Bhumika, Bollywood Singer won the hearts of the audience and left them spellbound with their melodious, captivating and scintillating performances. One of the main highlights of the event was ‘Live Musical and Singing’ performance by Mr. Manoj Jaiswal and Ms. Bhumika which kept the audience mesmerized. More than 1000 students participated in the event and they could barely control their excitement.

Swachh Bharat Abhiyan @ GLBIMR on 2nd October, 2019.
GL Bajaj Institute of Management & Research, Greater Noida organized Swachh Bharat Abhiyan on 2nd October, 2019, Wednesday at GLBIMR, Greater Noida campus under the visionary guidance of Dr. Ajay Kumar, Director, GLBIMR with the objective to sensitize the students, faculty and staff members about the importance of clean India and to imbibe the culture of living on a polished and spotless Earth. The Swachhta Pledge was taken in the kind presence of Dr. Ajay Kumar, Director, GLBIMR along with all the faculty, staff members and students. Under the “Swachh Bharat” initiative, GLBIMR CSR Club organized a “Poster Making Competition” with the objective to spread the message of cleanliness among the students. A total of 6 teams participated in the competition. All the students, faculty and staff members wholeheartedly participated in the “Cleanliness Drive” and cleaned the campus with full enthusiasm. The event came as a reflection of how young minds perceive the issue of cleanliness with utmost importance and how keen they are to make a difference by realizing their responsibility towards the planet Earth.

GL Bajaj Institute of Management and Research, Greater Noida signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Cengage Learning India Private Limited on September 26, 2019 at GLBIMR, Greater Noida under the visionary guidance of Mr. Pankaj Agarwal, Vice Chairman, GL Bajaj Educational Institutions. This MOU was signed by Dr. Ajay Kumar, Director, GLBIMR and Mr. Alok Srivastava, Managing Director, Cengage Learning India Private Limited.
