GL Bajaj Institute of Management & Research, Greater Noida conducted Management Development Programme (MDP) on ‘Big Data Analytics: Leveraging through Data Visualization’ on Saturday, December 21, 2019 in Board Room, GLBIMR campus under the visionary guidance of Dr. Ajay Kumar, Director, GLBIMR.

The inaugural session started with lighting of ceremonial lamp and invocation of Goddess Saraswati. Dr. Ajay Kumar, Director, GLBIMR welcomed the guests by presenting sapling as a token of greeting. The Key Resource Persons for the event were Mr. Nitin Sethi, Data Scientist, McKinsey & Company and Mr. Vikram Kumar, Head-Business Intelligence Unit at SBI CAP Securities Ltd.

The objective of the MDP was to enhance the knowledge of the professionals about the importance of Big Data Analytics in making more informed, strategic and tactical decisions for sustainable business growth. It equipped the participants with Big Data Analytics tools for sorting and analyzing structured and unstructured data in real-time with hands on experience.

The first part of the session covered the learning of data through various visualization techniques. Tableau Software was used for Data Visualization. The second half focused on Business Intelligence and the trends. Alteryx was also used for data mining and others with practical exercises.

The MDP witnessed a total of 32 participants from all across India which included corporate delegates, academicians and research scholars. The event concluded with Vote of Thanks and the felicitation of the dignitaries.

GL Bajaj Institute of Management & Research, Greater Noida conducted a Workshop on “Cyber Safety” under its “Expert Talk Series” by Ms. Akancha Srivastava, Social Change Leader & Cyber Security Expert, Founder of Akancha Srivastava Foundation (India’s largest Social Impact Initiative Against Cyber Harassment) on Wednesday, December 04, 2019 in PGDM Auditorium, GLBIMR campus for the students of PGDM Batch 2019-21 under the visionary guidance of Dr. Ajay Kumar, Director, GLBIMR.

The event started with lighting of ceremonial lamp and invocation of Goddess Saraswati. Dr. Ajay Kumar, Director, GLBIMR welcomed the guests by presenting sapling as a token of greeting.The aim of the workshop was to make the students aware of the risks that exist on the internet. It also covered the basics of cyber security, the things that can potentially go wrong and the precautions students can take to safeguard themselves against them. Ms. Akancha Srivastava told the students about the different types of cyber crimes like bullying, stalking, cyber pornography, morphing and impostering. She also told about the association with Mr. Navneet Sikera, IG, U.P. Police who joined hands with her foundation to fight against the cyber crimes in U.P.

All the students and faculty members attended the session which turned out to be a highly engaging and learning experience for them.
