GLBIMR’s E-Cell Flying Minds organized Business Plan Competition

Under the entrepreneurial leadership of Mr. Pankaj Agarwal, Vice Chairman, GL Bajaj Educational Institutions and academic orientation of Dr. Urvashi Makkar, Director General, GLBIMR, E-Cell at GLBIMR organized “Business Plan Competition” on February 25, 2019.

The activity was organized to familiarize the students with primary / secondary market research and the process of conducting feasibility studies. The main aim of this competition was to make students experience writing a business plan and creating a business model, along with developing overall confidence of the students to face a large audience. The competition witnessed many innovative business ideas suggested by students which were evaluated on clarity of thoughts, market feasibility, customer acceptance and value proposition.

The winners of activity were:

First Position: Team Quickrey- Priyanka Gupta, Anjali Chauhan, Ashwin Kumar, Palak Mehrotra, Satyanshu Srivastava

Second Position: Team Vaksana- Anirudh Sharma, Ashish Kumar, Shubham Tyagi

Third Position: Team Creators- Dhairya Rogha, Jaya Mishra, Chitra Joshi

In continuation to the Corporate Interface series, GLBIMR students under the visionary leadership of Mr. Pankaj Agarwal, Vice Chairman, GL Bajaj Educational Institutions and Dr. Urvashi Makkar, Director General, GLBIMR got the opportunity to participate in a interactive session on “Innovative Thinking – I Need My Space” organized by Dr. Edward Roger on February 08 2019 at American Center, New Delhi.

Dr. Edward Roger has been associated with top ranked ISB (Indian School of Business) for over 10 years. Combined with his over 15 years of experience helping NASA learn from their complex space missions, he has insights on how leaders make decisions and generate creative solutions.

In the session Dr. Edward cited various examples like how AMAZON has worked on disintermediation of space and created a successful model of E-Commerce and SPACEX has come out with innovative business idea. He explained how we as an individual always get involve in complex thinking process for generating a new or creative idea but we forget that some times a great idea can evolve just by thinking very simply and giving space to those ideas in our thinking process.

Dr Edward shared some tips HOW DO WE CREATE A SPACE?

He cited that there are three different ways how we can create a space:

a. Create Visual Space

b. Create Mental Space (by asking questions)

c. Create Unexpected Space (Out of Box thinking , Something nobody have ever thought)

He emphasized that every one should create the space to develop the art of Innovative and Creative Thinking.

The event was enriching experience for the students to have a idea about Innovative Thinking and How to create space for the same. It was a great networking platform for the students where they asked several questions, which was appreciated and addressed by the speaker.

In continuation to the Corporate Interface Series, GLBIMR students under the motivational guidance of Dr. Urvashi Makkar, Director General, GL Bajaj Educational institutions, participated in “Youth Unconference-Discovering The Entrepreneurial Competencies” organized by FMRT (Foundation for Management Research and Training) in Hotel Park Plaza, Fridabad, on Sunday, February 3, 2019 from 9:00a.m. to 12:00 Noon.

5 Students of PGDM Batch 2018–20 participated in “Youth Unconference – Discovering The Entrepreneurial Competencies”. Eminent dignitaries like Mr. Abhay Kumar Singh -Senior Assistant Director (FICCI) , Mr. Divyanu Gupta – Founder and Managing Director (Housepital, A home healthcare comapny), Ms. Preety Tyagi – Health Coach, Founder & CEO (My22BMI), Ms. Anoopsha – CEO Banavat (Indian Handloom), Mr. Mukund – Founder of Straight Device, Mr. Prabhakar Tiwari – Consultant (Startup India) and Mr. Ashok -CEO Vinamara were present in the session. The welcome address was delivered by Dr. Jyoti Rana, Founder FMRT. The experts highlighted the importance of developing entrepreneurial skills and discussed the strategies like how to build a successful enterprise. They also highlighted the role of networking in today’s scenario and how it’s going to help entrepreneurs. Mr. Abhay Kumar Singh emphasized upon the role of technology in setting up an enterprise.

The event was a great exposure for students as it enlightened them on ‘How to start an enterprise?’, ‘What are the key competencies required by an entrepreneur and ‘How they can use technology to keep pace with the changing business environment?’ The event also provided them a wonderful opportunity to meet and interact with entrepreneurs of eminence from various sector. The students also raised questions to experts. It was a very engaging experience under the CIS Platform. All participants were felicitated with Certificate of Participation by Dr. Jyoti Rana Founder FMRT.

In continuation to the Corporate Interface Series, GLBIMR students under the visionary leadership of Mr. Pankaj Agarwal, Vice Chairman, GL Bajaj Educational institutions, got the opportunity to participate in “PARIKSHAPE CHARCHA 2.0”, an interactive session of students, parents and teachers with Honorable PM Shri Narendra Modi on January 29, 2019 at Talkatora Stadium, New Delhi. 20 Students of PGDM Batch 2018–20 were selected after qualifying a contest for participation in “PARIKSHA PE CHARCHA2.0”.

GLBIMR students are consistently being aspired for such opportunities and participations under the inspiring direction of Dr. Urvashi Makkar, Director General, GLBIMR. 1000 students across the country participated in the event. The session covered issues like how to beat exam stress. The session also provided a platform to parents and teachers to share their experiences. While interacting with the students, teachers and parents Honorable PM shared that the education system has become rank bound and rather than running behind the ranks, we should teach the students to learn from things around them.

The event was a life time opportunity for all 20 students as it enlightened them with the issue of how to reduce stress during exam and ways to resolve it. The event also provided them a wonderful opportunity to meet and interact with other students from different institutes and share their experiences. It was a very engaging experience under the CIS Platform.

Dr. Makkar mentioned that these achievements could not have been possible without the constant guidance of Mr. Pankaj Agarwal, Vice Chairman, GL Bajaj Educational Institutions and endless team efforts of GLBIMR team.

Day 4 Highlights of Induction Program 2018: Motivational Movie Premiere & Experience Sharing Session by Alumni @ GLBIMR

The Induction Program 2018 organized under the aegis of the Director General, Dr. Urvashi Makkar , on the theme of “Corporate Expectations from Aspiring Managers”, which commenced on July 09, 2018, has been overwhelmingly successful amongst the young PGDM pursuants at GL Bajaj Institute of Management & Research, Greater Noida . The fourth day of the Induction Program was equally exciting and exceptionally energetic. In the morning session, the campus hosted the premiere of the critically acclaimed Academy-Award nominated movie “127 Hours”. Inspired by the fantastic and harrowing tale of the real-life survival situation of American mountaineer Aron Ralston, the movie touched the right chord amongst the students on the spirit of perseverance and survival in the most unexpected circumstances that life beholds. It was perhaps the most pragmatic analogy to the survival of the agilest in the present corporate senario.

Resonating the learnings of the movie premiere, the afternoon session of the day was devoted to interaction with senior alumni of GLBIMR under the guidance of the Director General Dr. Urvashi Makkar and Senior Faculty Members. Ms. Anuja Agarwal – HR Executive, Q & A, Mr. Abhay Kumar- Sports Leader, Decathlon and Mr. Mohit Kumar- Business Development Executive, Namekart from PGDM Batch 2016-18 Batch shared their valuable experiences with the newly enrolled GLBIMR-ians. The alumni shared that the learnings at GLBIMR were instrumental in coping with the challenges they faced in switching from classrooms to corporate. They also shared that Value Added Certifications, Workshops, International Conferences, HR Conclaves, Corporate Interface Series and the varied array of opportunities offered by GLBIMR should be used to develop the necessary skill-set which the budding managers should focus upon before entering the corporate world.

This session included an extensive interaction which helped the students to get motivated and gear-up for the ascent ahead.
